There’s a bit of good news for fans of Red Band Society. Though the show hasn’t been officially cancelled yet, the series performed very poorly in the ratings, didn’t get a full season order, and was dropped from the schedule last month. Essentially, the series is done.
On the positive side, it looks like FOX plans to release the remaining three unaired episodes. A new episode will air on Saturday, January 31st. No further information has been released thus far.
A dramedy, Red Band Society revolves around the young patients and caretakers of the pediatric ward of the renowned Ocean Park Hospital in Los Angeles. The cast includes Octavia Spencer, Dave Annable, Griffin Gluck, Nolan Sotillo, Charlie Rowe, Astro, Zoe Levin, Ciara Bravo, Mandy Moore, and Rebecca Rittenhouse.

What do you think? Will you be tuning in to watch the final three episodes of Red Band Society?
All I have to say is if this program was originally on The CW or ABC Family, it would most likely have been a huge success. I like this about 10x more than Chasing Life simply because of such diverse characters.
Watched a few episodes…BORING!!!! Just surprised it took so long to get cancelled.
RBS is a good show for young people reminding them that life isn’t always fun and games. It’s a shame that it’s cancelled. Good plot development and believable characters.
I liked the show but I don’t of many besides me who watched it. I wonder if the reason for deciding to air those last three episodes has anything to do with the fact that Octavia Spencer has a movie with Kevin Costner coming out that is already receiving some Oscar buzz?
I love watching this show and now it’s being cancelled x( tv sucks
It,s not be officially cancalled, why do people say it has, where,s the proof, Mindy has lower ratings but it,s not been canceled, but should, but not red band.
No additional episodes have been ordered and it’s been exiled to Saturday night. While it may not have officially been cancelled, it effectively has been.
I liked the show and will be sorry if it is not continued. Hope the three episodes that do get aired will leave the series with some closure.
I am happy to hear that FOX will be airing the last few episodes of “Red Band Society”. Though I really wish the network would give “Red Band Society” another chance. This was a great new series, I looked forward to watching it each week. It is sad that TV has so many stupid reality shows that stay on forever, and yet good shows aren’t given a long enough air time to reach everyone. I hope that I can purchase “Red Band Society” on DVD.
Really liked the show. It was quirky and had a good mix of characters. The acting is very good also. Shall watch til the finale and hope they get a reprieve. We need more shows that have positives in them!
I will watch the remaining shows. No more will I waste my time on any new show fox puts out. If a show is worthy just wait until reruns. Never watched Raymond when it was new, now I love watching reruns. When a show starts out just ignore it. Network TV is now the VCR of television. Quality shows are on so many of the smaller venues. Turn off network tv and watch what happens. Execs bonuses are based on the ratings, think about it.
Another show we like that is being cancelled. Why do the networks worry so much about ratings so quickly? Give a show a chance. Also, sometimes there is a conflict with times and the public expects to catch up with the show later on. I have to do this quite a bit. Do the networks think our lives revolve around scheduled times for TV shows?
Well said! …..
It has not been officially cancelled and could get a season 2
I hope so.
It’s dead. Terrible ratings, no additional episodes and ir was cast away to Saturday.
I wish this show had been renewed. It was a really good show!
Another show I like doesn’t get a chance. I am tired of it I think I may stop watching TV shows until they get a season two so I don’t get disappointed.
Come on now, another good show that hasn’t been given a fair shot. So many bad shows that continue …I just dont undersand
Love the show! Very sorry it’s being cancelled.
