Heralded as Sarah Michelle Gellar’s return to television, Ringer couldn’t hold onto its audience. The show’s been cancelled after one season and 22 episodes.
As Ringer begins, we meet Bridget (Gellar), a former stripper and recovering alcoholic who’s witnessed a murder and goes to stay with her estranged twin sister Siobhan (also Gellar). Her sister disappears so Bridget takes Siobhan’s place and soon realizes that her sister’s life was more complicated than her own. The TV series also features the talents of Nestor Carbonell, Ioan Gruffudd, Mike Colter, Tara Summers, Kristoffer Polaha, Zoey Deutch, Justin Bruening, Billy Miller, Jason Dohring, Nicole Anderson, and Gage Golightly.
Considering the amount of promotion that The CW put behind it, Ringer’s premiere had to viewed as a bit of a disappointment. It registered a 1.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.84 million total viewers.

In week two, the demo dropped a whopping 25% to a 0.9 rating with 1.94 million. Week thee remained stable but week four plunged 33%.
Over the course of the season, the ratings fluctuated but also dwindled downward. They fell as low as a 0.4 rating (several times) with as few as 1.05 million viewers.
With very few hours of primetime real estate to fill, it just didn’t make sense for The CW to renew Ringer for a second season. They’ve cancelled the show and the last episode aired on April 17th. Since it wasn’t expected to be a series finale, several storylines were left up in the air.

I’m just now getting into “Ringer” right now that I’m retired. I’m loving it. A lot of twists and turns. I could see how it lost viewership. I don’t know that I could have kept up with one episode a week. I believe I would have gotten lost. Streaming it gives it continuity and it’s awesome. Happy to see Sarah Michelle Gellar again.
Please bring back a season two!!!! I binge watched it all weekend!!!! We need to at least get a series finale!!!

Why do producers and tv station cancel great shows in America. Viewers are looking forward to the climax and now are left up in the air

i enjoyed the whole season,,if they werent going to do a second season, they should of ended it properly,happy ending,,,frustrated with the end like it did
I found just browsing channels and I really liked it , it got far fetched a couple of times but always left me looking forward to the next episode. Its a shame that a series this good gets canceled . Bring it back !!!!
I loved the show when it originally aired but couldn’t find time to watch it. I just watched the entire season on the CW site. It was SOOOO good. And a second season would be FANTASTIC. Can we please bring it back??? So many good storylines to come up with.
I just found the show RINGER in March 1, 2022,, WHAT an AWSOM series, I watched all 22 episodes in 2 1/2 days, I was terribly disappointed to see they cancelled season 2, I wish someone would pick up this series and start season 2.. what a great story this turned out to be.
I think it’s wrong every time a good series comes on they take off the air and put stupid reality TV crap on. ringer was getting good and your gonna leave it on that way that stinks
