The 10-episode first season of the Roadies TV show premiered on Showtime, June 26, 2016. Executive producer Winnie Holzman talks about the possibilities a second season of Roadies might bring. Holzman previously worked on TV series including Huge, which was cancelled after one season on ABC Family (now Freeform), Once and Again, which was cancelled after one season on ABC, and My So-Called Life which was also cancelled after one season on the Alphabet Network.
A musical comedy drama series from Cameron Crowe, the Roadies TV series has yet to be renewed for season two. The cast includes: Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino, Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Peter Cambor, Colson Baker, and Ron White.

Are you thinking ahead to future seasons? Would this group of people stay with this band for multiple tours?
HOLZMAN: I think that will be up to Cameron and the conversations we have with Showtime, but we feel very elastic about it. We feel like we could stay with this band and continue. You could have it that a lot of these roadies end up on another tour. You could have it that they end up in another tour. I think it would be fun to mix it up. I can picture playing it out so many different ways, and I think that’s part of the fun of this show. You could keep this core group of roadies together, but you could have various things happen.
Here is more on the first season of the Roadies TV series, from Showtime:
The series gives an insider’s look at the reckless, romantic, funny and often poignant lives of a committed group of roadies who live for music and the de facto family they’ve formed along the way. ROADIES chronicles the rock world through the eyes of music’s unsung heroes and pays homage to the backstage workers who put the show on the road while touring for the successful arena-level group, The Staton-House Band.
What do you think? Have you been watching the first season of Roadies? How would you like a second season to play out? Should Roadies be cancelled or renewed? Tell us.
This was a fun ride behind the scenes of concerts. I would hope very much foe a Season 2!!
The show had its ups and downs but seemed to hit its stride after first 2-3 episodes. 2 lead characters Luke Wilson & Carla Gugino are very talented actors and bring the show some serious chops…… let em roll next year, bet they find a larger audience. scale of 1-10 7.5
Backstrom died when it was about to start rolling. Too often these shows get the axe if they don’t explode right out of the gate and take the world by storm.
I hope Roadies doesn’t suffer the same fate.
I loved Backstrom!! I think Roadies found its footing after the 2nd episode and would love a season 2.
Love the show but dislike the actress who plays Shelli character so much it ruins the show for me. She’s so unrealistic compared to all the others. What tour production mgr could afford her wardrobe? No chemistry w Luke Wilson.
In Cameron Crowe’s true sequel to “Almost Famous”, “Roadies” completes the circle of action among talent, support crew, industry media, and audience/fans. It didn’t take long to become fully invested in this show – provided you love music, that is. And happen to know at least one member of some band’s road crew.
Am I pulling for a Season 2? Sure am. Same band? Well … Same crew? Prolly. Plot? I leave that to Mr Crowe …
Roadies is a great series. Brings back memories of the 70’s and 80’s. Keep it alive.
Great show!. Looking forward to season two
would love to see a 2nd season of this show. The acting, characters and story lines are great.
I really hope they renew it and keep the original band and roadies!! Amazing show and I couldn’t wait to see the next episode!!!! Only complaint was I wish the season was longer. :/
A great show hope they renew xXxX fingers
Loved Roadies! Could imagine a second season with Bill and Shelley Working out their relationship while maybe managing some hot young band that has no understanding or respect for the old school touring traditions. Keep a few of the regulars and add some new faces!
Excellent first season! Love this show on so many different levels. Fantastic character development. Very cleverly done, having musical guests. Great ensemble. Captures the magic and everything else of being on the road. Yes, Please definitely Renew this show!
Love Roadies! I hope we get many more seasons!
