Airing on USA Network, Satisfaction has certainly attracted a lot of distinct opinions. Some love the series and want a second season while others liken it to pornography and feel it should be cancelled as soon as possible. Most importantly to USA though is, how’s it been doing in the ratings?
On Satisfaction, a successful married man (Matt Passmore) has his world turned upside down when he discovers that his wife (Stephanie Szostak) of 18 years has hired a professional lover (Blair Redford). Through a series of events, he ends up deciding to try the escort business for himself. Others in the cast include Michelle DeShon and Katherine LaNasa.
The show debuted on July 17th to 1.7 million viewers and a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Compared to other shows on USA, this was not a great start.
The ratings dropped in later weeks but have also rebounded a bit as well. To date, the season is averaging 1.4 million viewers with a 0.4 demo rating.
Satisfaction is one of the lowest-rated shows on USA right now — and the cable channel is having a lot of problems in the ratings department. All of their older shows are way down year-to-year.
While that fact might improve Satisfaction’s chance of survival, I suspect the execs will cancel the series and put their time and energy into launching another new show.
But, what do you think? Do you like Satisfaction on USA? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
10/2 update: USA has renewed Satisfaction for a second season.
great series very different that and Rush are the only shows I look forward in watching
Don’t like the show at all. Shows with better ratings have been cancelled so this one should go too. Cancel it. Hope USA revamps their strategy or new shows. This season’s offerings have been a major bust.
It’s rubbish. Mtsssss pls cancel this show already there are better shows to be renewed like graceland.
show sucks literally even the advertising like about an orgy at 2pm. I just change the channel each time i see an ad for the show. CANCEL!!
I like the series. Very much. Most of it has to do with Matt Passmore and the writing than anything. Yes, they’re pushing some boundaries and it’s about time they did. Women of ‘loose morals’ have been a temporarily rentable form of entertainment for a long, long, long time. Here the temporarily rentable entertainment is gigolo-flavored. But, despite the subject matter and the path taken, there is value in watching someone become a better human being. Matt Passmore can carry that dichotomy and make it believable.
Cancel
Cancel it distasteful.
I like it, its different and although a little far fetched it touches on a real problem we Americans have with infidelity or at least my wife. I enjoy the actors in the show, they do well against each other and lets remember after all it is for our entertainment.
I don’t like it……sorry.
Renew
entertaining not for everyone money and ratings will decide wife and the blonde Madam are certainly hot! i’d like to see a follow up season
I, agree with Rick M.
Cancel it. The acting all around is good, but the subject matter makes me uncomfortable
watching it. Bring the Glades back.
Bring back Longmire too……………….
Renew
I preferred Passmore as a Florida cop than this sleazy man. I couldn’t even watch one episode.
