Animation producers (and spouses) Allison Abbate and Tony Cervone recently stopped by the Radio Rashy podcast to talk with animation writer/producer Paul Dini and his wife, actress/magician Misty Lee.
A lot of the discussion revolved around Abbate’s work on Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie feature film but Cervone, who’s a supervising producer on Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, mentioned the Cartoon Network series.
Cervone said, “There are 11 shows left that will finish the series off at 52 episodes. I’m not sure when they’re coming back. I never know when they’re coming back. If I had to guess, probably in the summer because it usually airs in the summer. But I can’t wait for these last 11 to get out for people to see them because they’re crazy.”
At 2011’s ComicCon, Cervone and fellow supervising producer Mitch Watson teased that events in the pilot episode would pay off in the 52nd episode. We now know that will be the series finale.
One of the most recent episodes, which aired last fall, featured appearances by classic Hanna-Barbera characters Blue Falcon, Dynomutt, Race Bannon, Doctor Benton Quest (Jonny’s scientist dad), and evil Doctor Zin. It turns out that Doctor Quest created the Dog Wonder!
Though Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated won’t be returning for a third season, it’s a safe bet that Scooby and the gang will return soon.

pleeeaasseee! we need season 3! this show was the best with scooby doo and it cant end it with the seond season, you left so many things open!! i want to know how it will continuueee pleeassee
I hate when people air great and awesome tv shows but then they just cut them off. But there’s nothing we can really do about it. This is just one of many scooby Doo shows/movies they are bound to make another; wether it be, with the same director or not. I mean with all the protests the profit margin would go down considerably, due to everyone being stuck on that one show.
Why this was getting so good i was crying as the last show ended and then when they left to solve more mysteries it END i was talking to my mom about how all the good shows are always the first to leave

Realy? Not Season 3? Here in Romania we loved this animated series, and you can’t finish like this. We need season 3. Please don’t stop here. All of us will promise, if you continue with season 3 you will have a big audience. You can’t let finish like that. It’s sucks. 🙁 🙁 :(. The new one wast of time stop trying new show. The mystery incorporated, was freaking perfect we would make treats and wait for it to come on it was cool. My fourteen year old really liked it the mystery’s were great, suspenseful the colors of the show was awesome it was like watching a new movie coming out really loved it bring it back.bring a new plot of something else bigger ,and along the new stories
Be Cool Scooby Doo totally sucks in comparison to this show. If they were gonna do more they should have done season 3 like the writers wanted and not that garbage.
I like how this show was more grown up, had an actual plot, and all the references to other horror stuff.

Scooby doo was great, I loved the storyline to the evil treasure. But ending with them driving across the country to try to fix the new world and not knowing what happens really sucks. Season 3 could be a huge success because I know I would watch it.

The end of season two left a cliffhanger… Supposed to drive across the country to college and solve mysteries along the way…they need a season 3 or else I’ll write one myself! Lol
