Last season, the Scorpion TV show saw a significant tumble in the ratings but CBS renewed the series anyway. Now, the network is moving the show to a later timeslot (when fewer people are watching television). Could Scorpion be cancelled or, is it sure to be renewed for a third season so there will be enough episodes for syndication? Stay tuned.
Based on real-life events, Scorpion revolves around computer expert Walter O’Brien (Elyes Gabel) and his team of brilliant misfits. They’re this country’s last line of defense against complex, high-tech threats. The quirky masterminds have found the perfect job: a place where they can apply their exceptional brainpower to solve the nation’s crises, while also helping each other learn how to fit in. The series also stars Robert Patrick, Katharine McPhee, Jadyn Wong, Ari Stidham, Eddie Kaye Thomas, and Riley B. Smith.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. For comparisons: The second season of Scorpion averaged a 1.77 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.64 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).

I’m watching it right now and was just thinking, even though I still like the show I may have to give it up. The background ‘music’ is too loud and too, well, awful. Too bad. I’ve enjoyed it except for that.
Please renew this show. For me, Scorpion is not a show about “geniuses solving worldwide threats only they can solve” but about the human interactions between the characters.
the later time slot makes it more difficult for me to watch it, but I do record it, so CBS must bear some of the fault for its’ declining numbers. A spinoff with Lea and Katharine, a mom-daughter duo, with Lea on the grift and Kat-t0-the-rescue could be funny, and make it possible for some intense drama between the two. the possibilities are endless with good writers.
I like the idea and the characters are great. The science is so bad it makes it hard to watch. For a show that is based on high IQ it makes horrible science mistakes. It reminds me of the old satire movies that make fun of action movies for the ridiculous things the hero can do that are really impossible. Like the old cowboy movies where the good guy kill 11 people with one 6 shooter without having to reload. Please clean up the science on this show or it’s doomed for the scrap heap.

Scorpion is one of my favorite shows. It should have more seasons. It is entertaining.
