As you may know, ABC recently debuted a new series for Sunday nights called Scoundrels. Will it survive long enough to see season two?
Scoundrels follows the legally-challenged West family. The patriarch has been sent to prison and his wife is determined that she and the rest of her family not follow him. The TV show’s cast includes Virginia Madsen, David James Elliott, Leven Rambin, Vanessa Marano, Carlos Bernard, and Patrick Flueger (in a dual role).
The dramedy kicked off on Sunday, June 20th, with a poor 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and only 5.23 million viewers. For the timeslot, that put the premiere in third place in the demo and second in total viewers. Not a good start.

In week two, viewership for Scoundrels took a significant dive. The demo fell to a 1.0 rating and total viewership came down to just 3.66 million. That put the dramedy in last place in the demo and in last place for viewers.
Unless more people start watching, it’s hard to imagine that Scoundrels will be back for season two. ABC has lower expectations for summer TV shows but these numbers are terrible no matter how you look at them.
A total of eight episodes of Scoundrels have already been produced for season one. Hopefully the network will let the viewers see all of them and not pull the series off the air early. Right now, it looks episode eight will air on August 15th.

Why, after only just beginning, is ANYONE ready to critisize a new show? Give it a chance to take hold without moving it all over the time slots and gain a following! I LOVE the family, kooky as they are, and especially opportunity to see DJE on screen again! There could be a multitude of story lines with so many characters, I say ABC, give it a fair GO!

Love this serie and the charakters in it.Hope we can see all 8episodes,and many mor in season 2.Maybe on a new broadcasting place,if it better runs!
It’s a fabulous show and keeps getting better and better each week. Please give it chance. The characters are interesting and the entire cast are great at their performaces.

This show is garbage and needs to go away. The writing is horrible, the actors even worse, and is reflected in the ratings and the fact that repeats the other networks are airing is beating it soundly. ABC needs to cut their losses, Scoundrels is a DUD and please put us and it out of our misery. Watched two episodes, and that’s 120 minutes I’ll never get back. Back to CBS and their repeats, which is way better than Scoundrels.
I am really enjoying this show. I hope that TPTB will give it a chance to build an audience. Really good stosries and good performances by the entire cast. It needs a chance. not to be cancelled too early.

I am enjoying this show tremendously. If it is not renewed for a second season, I hope TPTB at least allow it to finish the currently already filmed 8 episodes.
