The Scream TV show has been renewed for a third season on MTV. Don’t holler at us, but Scream, season three will be much shorter than the first two installments. While the first season had 10 episodes and the second had 13, the new renewal order is only for six episodes. At least Scream has not been cancelled.
Deadline reports the search is on for new showrunners, yet again. Jill Blotevogal and Jaime Paglia executive produced season one. In season two they were replaced by Michael Gans and Richard Register, who are now gone. The Scream TV series cast includes Willa Fitzgerald, Bex Taylor-Klaus, John Karna, Amadeus Serafini, and Carlson Young.
There is some good news, though. The Scream Halloween special airs on MTV, Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 9:00pm ET/PT. In case you missed it, here is the trailer.
What do you think? Are you disappointed the MTV only renewed Scream the series for six episodes, or do you think a shorter season will work better? Tell us.
Very disappointed. I don’t think they can do enough with only 6 eps. But I guess it is better than none.
I do, however, hate it when they finish airing all episodes and then wait months until airing a “Halloween Special.”
Scream is in the horror genre. So really, shouldn’t it just be aired together in a group? Why wait? Really makes no sense to me, but whatever, I suppose. That’s just my opinion.
ok so we get less content and you get more money and also remember the renew comes with a reboot with means new characters aka actors so the people who played in season 1 and 2 gone and we will have less content witch means season is over faster me personally if they get rid of the old cast I wont bother watching it
i love this show..so happy to hear its renewed……love the cast & storline…..also i wish more networks would do less shows because sometimes shows can drag LOL…………..so 6 shows is not a problem 🙂 and i am not saying this show dragged at all i mean other shows LOL………so looking forward 🙂
Awesome! Scream is renewed for a third season! I’d rather the season have less episodes and be good rather than having 14 episodes and it’s terrible. So excited, and the Halloween Special is tomorrow! Great way to celebrate 20 years of Scream!
