After seasons of poor ratings and several cast members moving on, ABC has finally put the Scrubs TV show to rest.
Scrubs follows hospital life as seen through the eyes of Dr. J.D. Dorian (Zach Braff). He left Sacred Heart last season but returns occasionally to help teach a new crop of med students. Others in the cast include Donald Faison, John C. McGinley, Ken Jenkins, Sarah Chalke, Eliza Coupe, Kerry Bishe, Michael Mosley, and Dave Franco.
Last May, despite poor ratings, ABC decided to try to squeeze one more year out of the veteran sitcom. The reason? ABC also produces Scrubs and stood to make big money on additional episodes in syndication.
The network kicked off season nine late last year and registered a low 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and only 4.5 million viewers. The numbers dropped even further and ABC decided to burn off most of the remaining episodes in January.
In March, ABC aired the final episode of the season. The network’s website promoted it as the “series finale.” We contacted a representative for ABC who told us that it was a mistake but nobody was in any rush to change it.
Now, it appears that ABC has finally cancelled Scrubs after nine seasons on the air. With more than 180 episodes, the sitcom won’t be coming back.
What do you think? Should Scrubs have returned after last season’s Braff send off? Did you like the “med school” setting and characters?

Season 9 was different, but still great!
Without Zach Braff (JD) it isn’t the same but it’s a new idea and not a bad one.
Season 1-8 were awesome. The idea of Sacret Heart as a Med School was awesome, too. They should continue with a new season 10.
i prefered scrubs without jd he pissed me off but i liked the med school episodes i think they should make a spin off because the only reason there veiws were low is because they never aired season 9 in the uk i mean come on we love scrubs here but i had to download season 9 to watch it
Season 9 should have never been made. Season 8 had awesom ending.
And charachters in season 9 were all bad beside old ones.
I thought season 9 was pretty much on par to season 1. After sinking during season 6 and 7, I really thought it had redeemed itself with the new cast, sad to see it will not be continuing.
I thought it was annoying you see elliot pregnant but never see it born etc. series 9 missed the main characters appearing every episode
What The Hell That Was Like The Best Tv Show I Have Ever Seen
It Should Have Another Season
We LOVED the med school edition! It was SO funny and very refreshing! They shoulda kept going!!!
Bring back Scrubs. It amuses us and it teaches us lots of life lessons in Eastern Europe too.
Season nine would have worked if it wasn’t so JD heavy in the first five episodes. For reasons beyond my reckoning the JD and Turk relationship was camped up to the nines. I barely recognised them. Most if not all of their escapades were just the opposite of funny in those episodes, and coupling their non-humour with going through the motions of introducing new charaters, it just made the whole thing a little difficult to get into. But I did get into it, DESPITE the bad to worse JD/Turk, JD/Cox, JD/Elliot JD/Students JD everything stuff. Somebody misplaced his character between… Read more »
The new season was still really entertaining! i’m sad they stopped showing it. no clue why they stopped it, it was still great!
Season 9 ruined scrubs. i was really dissapointed and stopped watching after 2 episodes.
If you could bring back the old cast then bring it back
it was awesome!
I loved each and every one of the scrubs seasons. Literally, I just finished watching season 9 like 5 minutes ago and the way it “ended” was just terrible. They really should come back and finish this season the way they ended season 8…instead of just leaving us hanging on what happened to all of the characters.
They need to bring it back.
I loved the last season of scrubs! seen it a bunch of times now! Cant they just make some more seasons? 🙂 Thanks to the new cast who made season 9 different and awesome!
i liked all of it. no reason to end it,
