What’s This TV Show About?
On the Shadowhunters TV show, young Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara) celebrates her 18th birthday at a New York City nightclub and sees a group of teenagers with supernatural abilities attacking a demon. She realizes that she is the only person who can see them and later learns that she’s one of a long line of demon hunters. When her mother, Jocelyn (Maxim Roy) is kidnapped, Clary must join other hunters to try to save her. All the while, she is learning about her new supernatural abilities. The rest of the Freeform cast includes Matthew Daddario, Alberto Rosende, Dominic Sherwood, Harry Shum Jr., Emeraude Toubia, and Isaiah Mustafa.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Shadowhunters averaged a 0.26 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 648,000 viewers. Compared to the season one, that’s down by 38% in the demo and down by 32% in viewers. Learn how Shadowhunters stacks up against the other Freeform TV shows.
On April 21, 2017, Shadowhunters was officially renewed for a third season which will debut April 3, 2018. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
While the second season of Shadowhunters has dropped off considerably, it is still in the top half of Freeform’s programming slate. Freeform has cancelled and renewed shows doing both better and worse than Shadowhunters. It also seems to fit with the Freeform brand. At this time, I suspect Shadowhunters will be renewed for a third season.

This is the only TV show that makes me feel that there could be a happy ending for everybody no matter who or where or what they are. Its content is exciting and takes you away from the world and all of its problems for just a little while it reminds me that even though there’s darkness in the world there’s also light as well.
We want season 3.
Shadowhunters is one of my favorite all time shows, all the way back to the movie! Please DON’T CANCEL SHADOWHUNTERS!!!
I really would hate to see them canceled but if they do maybe they could get picked up on Netflix! I love this show!
I would be so sad and disappointed if the show ended at S2ep20 (sorry if wrong so) me and my friend have weekly hang outs just to watch. She lives thirty minutes away and no cable so she comes over and we hang out and watch the episodes together. We are extremely attached to this show. #malecforever
Iv been seeing ShadowHunter since season 1 and I love it it’s a great and wonderful show and I love the cast especially Jace and Kat they are great actor’s I would love to see more season’s and season 3 that would be awesome so more and more season’s
I was unsure about a series of Shadowhunters after seeing the movie but I must tell you that the series is so much better. I have read all the books and to me the series is right on the mark, I know I am older than most of the fans but to me it is for all ages , great job please continue
i love this show a lott plss dont cancel it and besides that season 2 is gettin less ratings cuz as everyone loves clary and jace more than clary nd simon being together . thats what i feel from my view of point

Love the show, please don’t cancel and please don’t wait a year to bring it back on. So many stupid shows on the never go off and when good show like this and its just on a season and not back for a whole year.

Please don’t cancel shadowhunters I have not liked a show so much since Buffy the vampire slayer. I’m such a big fan of this show that I’ll be getting the series on dvd if possible like I did Buffy. Please don’t take it off the air. I beg free form to please keep it going.
