Earlier this season, CBS renewed newbie shows Scorpion, Madam Secretary, and NCIS: New Orleans for another season each. The network’s other new drama, Stalker, was glaringly missing from that list of early renewals. Is it doomed? Will Stalker be renewed for a second season or will it be cancelled instead?
A cop thriller, Stalker follows the work of the LAPD’s Threat Assessment Unit, a team that investigates incidents of stalking. The TV show stars Dylan McDermott, Maggie Q, Victor Rasuk, and Mariana Klaveno.
The series debuted in October to a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.07 million viewers. It wasn’t exactly an impressive start for the new series and the ratings dropped 10-14% in week two. That wasn’t too bad of a decline and CBS ended up giving Stalker some time (a “full season” order) to prove itself.
Unfortunately, the ratings have been dwindling downward for most of the season. Last week’s episode hit a new low with a 1.2 rating in the demo and 6.74 million viewers. CBS has no shortage of successful crime/legal series and numbers like those are too low for CBS. The network could bring it back for a second season but that seems highly unlikely.
Last week’s installment was Stalker’s 17th episode and CBS supposedly only ordered 20 of them for the season. It’s unclear if or when the remaining trio of episodes will be shown. Saturday night airings seem like a natural move at this point.
New series CSI: Cyber — starring recent Oscar-winner Patricia Arquette — takes over the Wednesdays at 10pm timeslot next week. It’s a natural fit for lead-in Criminal Minds since both revolve around FBI units.

Hi I’m from England I saw this on sky box sets and watched the whole thing in a few days 1-20 I loved it!!!!!!!! It’s ended with a cliff hanger ( say no more ) but Iv just looked it up to see when series 2 will be and am shocked that it may not continue??? Even tho u have left it unfinished, I so hate it when company’s do this, it was done with V I loved that also why do u keep the rubbish and get rid of the good?? U just need to give it time! We LOVED Stalker too but the show that replaced it on the network was actually CSI Cyber and it is a horrible show. I think Mom is one if the best sitcoms on TV today and would hate to see it go…but just my opinion. I just wish another network would pick the series up. It kept us on the edge of our seats every week!
I have ben waiting for the return of Stalker. It is one of the best thrillers on TV without al of the gore. It’s suspenseful though it didn’t need the hook up between the two lead characters. Shows like Two Broke Girls and Mom are a joke. I love sitcoms, but those show are lame. Not to mention crude for Prime Time when kids are still watching TV. Move them off and give this show a second chance.
Code black and limitless lack substance. It’s inconceivable and embarrassing that they would drop Stalker which was full of substance to add those 2 goofy lackluster shows.
Please bring back the stalker . Great cast ,and Dylan,McDermott is a great actor.

Stalker was a great show…. just remember NBC’s Blacklist they cancelled mid=season… now look at it…. one of their top shows because the fans spoke…. waiting for season 3
