Earlier this season, CBS renewed newbie shows Scorpion, Madam Secretary, and NCIS: New Orleans for another season each. The network’s other new drama, Stalker, was glaringly missing from that list of early renewals. Is it doomed? Will Stalker be renewed for a second season or will it be cancelled instead?
A cop thriller, Stalker follows the work of the LAPD’s Threat Assessment Unit, a team that investigates incidents of stalking. The TV show stars Dylan McDermott, Maggie Q, Victor Rasuk, and Mariana Klaveno.
The series debuted in October to a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.07 million viewers. It wasn’t exactly an impressive start for the new series and the ratings dropped 10-14% in week two. That wasn’t too bad of a decline and CBS ended up giving Stalker some time (a “full season” order) to prove itself.
Unfortunately, the ratings have been dwindling downward for most of the season. Last week’s episode hit a new low with a 1.2 rating in the demo and 6.74 million viewers. CBS has no shortage of successful crime/legal series and numbers like those are too low for CBS. The network could bring it back for a second season but that seems highly unlikely.
Last week’s installment was Stalker’s 17th episode and CBS supposedly only ordered 20 of them for the season. It’s unclear if or when the remaining trio of episodes will be shown. Saturday night airings seem like a natural move at this point.
New series CSI: Cyber — starring recent Oscar-winner Patricia Arquette — takes over the Wednesdays at 10pm timeslot next week. It’s a natural fit for lead-in Criminal Minds since both revolve around FBI units.

I LOVE Stalker!!! It’s my new absolute favorite show! Please bring it back!!! I’m soo sick of all the great shows being canceled while reality TV get all the glory and good time slots! The Stalker cast is AMAZING!!! I love every single one of them! And the group gets stronger and stronger every episode! The plots are well written and very climatic, I’m on the edge of my set every week!!! Please bring it back! Or at least let us see how “Fun and Game” ends!!! You CAN NOT leave us faithful followers left hanging!!!!!!

Tried Stalker and will not watch. I care not about watching about stalkers. I wouldn’t cry if this got cancelled. It’s not that good a show either
We have all watched shows about murderers. Even shows that glorify murderers. Now people are on some moral high ground about stalkers?

I work nights and DVR Stalker so that I can watch it first thing in the morning when the entire house is quiet. I get completely wrapped up in the show–been hooked since the very first episode. I can not fathom this show being cancelled!! I don’t watch reality tv, don’t want to vote for my favorite singer, chef, or tattoo! I love the suspense of Stalker–I love that it’s not just like every other cop drama out there. I don’t watch very much television but I refuse to miss this show! Don’t cancel stocker I wait each week for Wednesday night at 10 o’clock me and my girlfriends text why the show is on we love . Great riding great actors this is one of the best shows on TV thanking you in advance for keeping Slalker in the air.
This is one of the best shows on TV this season. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. You worry about the 18-49 demographic but what about the rest of us that don’t fall into that group? To cancel this show would be a terrible choice. And the question of whether or not the will air the last 3 episodes of this season should not even be a question. You can’t leave the series with such a huge unresolved issue.
My favorite show! Just wAy it is. Please don’t cancel.
