Star Trek: Discovery has found its leader. Deadline reports The Walking Dead star Sonequa Martin-Green has joined the upcoming CBS All Access TV series.
So far, it has been revealed the sci-fi reboot will “feature a new ship, new characters, and new missions, while embracing the same ideology and hope for the future that inspired a generation of dreamers and doer.” Earlier, we reported that Klingons will make an appearance in the new series.
Martin-Green will play “lieutenant commander Rainsford.” She joins fellow castmembers Doug Jones, Anthony Rapp, Michelle Yeoh, Chris Obi, Shazad Latif, and Mary Chieffo. What this means for Martin-Green’s character on The Walking Dead remains unclear. She is reportedly still committed to the AMC series.
Star Trek: Discovery is slated to debut in May 2017.
What do you think? Are you a Star Trek fan? Will you watch the new series?
Car crash in the making.
I feel pity for any person of color that gets a role especially a lead female role. People will hate and call names. I’ll still support them though.
Sci-fi nerds don’t care about race or gender.
Neo-Nazis will complain, but they were never going to watch the show in the first place.
