But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks? Deadline reports British actress Claire Cooper has been cast to recur as Lady Montague in the Still Star-Crossed TV show, coming to ABC in 2017. Based on the Melinda Taub novel of the same name, the Shondaland period drama picks up where Romeo and Juliet ends. ABC says it features, “…the treachery, palace intrigue and ill-fated romances of the Montagues and Capulets in the wake of the young lovers’ tragic fate.”
Still Star-Crossed stars Wade Briggs as Benvolio Montague, Anthony Head as Lord Silvestro Capulet, Zuleikha Robinson as Lady Guiliana Capulet, Lashana Lynch as Rosaline, and Ebonee Noel as Livia. Also starring are Sterling Sulieman as Prince Escalus, Medalion Rahimi as Princess Isabella, Grant Bowler as Damiano Montague, Susan Wooldridge as Nurse, Torrance Coombs as Paris, and Dan Hildebrand as Friar Lawrence.
Cooper’s Lady Montague is described as, “…a master manipulator and a woman with a dark past and dangerous secrets.”
Creator Heather Mitchell executive produces with Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, and Michael Goldstein. Pilot director Michael Offer also executive produces. The series hails from ABC Studios.
