On the previous episode of The Dead Zone, Johnny (Anthony Michael Hall) and his son JJ (Connor Price) were having new visions of Armageddon. Apparently the end was closer than they knew.
After six seasons, USA Networks has chosen to cancel the science-fiction series. Coincidentally, Dead Zone’s last episode aired on the same night as The 4400’s which has also been cancelled. It was suspected that time was running out on both series as they’ve both been on the air for several seasons and have grown more expensive. USA reportedly searched for ways to cut costs so the shows could be renewed but they ultimately decided to pull the plug.
Of the two cancellations, USA exec Jeff Wachtel said, “We wish we could keep all our great shows alive forever. But we feel we need to give some of our new shows a platform to grow, and it’s with great sadness that we say goodbye to two shows that had a great run and helped create the resurgence of original programming on our network and on all of cable.”
There’s been no word of any plans to bring the series’ unresolved storylines to a close. Stay tuned! 
What is the point of having any new tv series if you are going to end up cancelling when it get’s good to watch. That is like going through all the trouble of making a pie from scratch for your family and getting them to crave a slice of it only to end up dumping it in the garbage before they could eat it. THEY’RE GOING TO DO WHAT ????????????????????? After I told all my friends to watch it, they’re going to cancel it? It’s the best show on. I even quit going shopping on Saturday afternoons in order to stay at home and watch both episodes. That’s always what happens…a really good show comes on, and almost as soon as I have heard about it and get intrigued by it, it gets cancelled. Are you people crazy? Now there will be some stupid, insipid/sleazy show that dulls the brain. thanks a lot…..for nothing.
I really enjoyed watching this show and I am upset to hear it has been cut short with no ending. I agree very much with the majority of the postings on this site. Current programming is lame and reality tv SUCKS! Who cares about “Biggest Losers”, “Bachelors”, or “Survivors” That type of programing is for mindless zombies. If you are going to cancel a show, have the decency to give it an ending, and at least replace it with something that could be considered watchable. the Dead Zone was he only reason i watched abc. i have blocked it from my dialing menu….

WHAT THE F*@k. I really hate it when they do this, we have just found that armageddon is not over and what do they do, they cancel the show. i was a bit sceptical at first havin read the original book but really enjoyed the show, I even stayed upon to god knows what hours to watch the show after work. i agree with michelle we need a extended episode/tv movie to finish of the show if they wont do another series. i was really glad to hear that they planed to do this for farscape, i even bought the… Read more »
Why not compromise and do a made-for-tv movie, like scifi did for Farscape fans? I swore up and down I would NEVER get involved in another scifi series, because they so uncerimoniously pulled the plug on it. I didn’t even know it was cancelled – there’s such big gaps between “seasons” on cable. But scifi did the right thing and summed up the series in a really good tv-movie, and I think something like that could be done here. Hows about THAT?
Please bring back the dead zone. I just loved that show and I had been looking forward to it each season. I know you need to have room for more CSI’s and other new shows but the dead zone was one of the best, I like House also, but the dead zone was mine and my husbands favorite this is one tv show my husband would watch.

thanks, USA – your decision to cancel “Dead Zone” has solidified my decision to throw away my old t.v. set – “Smallville” is not compelling enough to justify clinging to this window to the wasteland

USA might have time to air these two wonderful shows if they didn’t show a Law & Order every hour on the hour
It’s a real heartbreaker to hear that these two shows have been cancelled — they were among your best, USA. You should bring them back. I know I’m not alone when I say that I’ve lost two BIG reasons for watching USA. A shame.
