A new season of The Doctors is coming soon but it will have a very different look. The thirteenth season of the syndicated series will premiere in September with a new studio, new format, and a new host.
Dr. Ian Smith is taking charge of the series and previous hosts Sonia Batra, Judy Ho, Nita Landry, Andrew Ordon, and Travis Stork will not be returning. This season will have the focus of helping people deal with the times we’re living in at the moment.
More about season 13 of the daytime series was revealed in a press release.
“The Emmy Award-winning series THE DOCTORS today announces it will debut a new format and host when it premieres its 13th season on September 21. Dr. Ian Smith, best-selling author and trusted medical expert, steps in as host as the series moves to a new state-of-the-art studio to deliver even more timely and reliable breaking medical news and trusted information.
THE DOCTORS will launch the theme “Take Your Power Back,” designed to empower viewers to break through the fear and uncertainty of current times. The season-long series will provide ongoing tips and solutions to get Americans into fighting shape physically, mentally and emotionally.
“This is an unprecedented time, and people are looking for the latest in updates delivered in an easy to understand format, and THE DOCTORS is the perfect place to help us all take control of our lives,” said Dr. Ian Smith. “Helping people learn how to be the best versions of themselves is a personal passion of mine, and I am excited to bring viewers unbiased information and facts, free of any political slant, to help them take their power back.”

THE DOCTORS recognizes the opportunity to support our viewers and deliver the content they’re looking for and deserve to get,” said Jay McGraw, executive producer, THE DOCTORS. “Dr. Ian and our award-winning team coming together for season 13 are focused on being an empowering resource of news, solutions and inspiration to stay healthy and become stronger than ever.”
THE DOCTORS will begin production this month and will feature a new, modern East Coast studio. THE DOCTORS is produced by Stage 29 Productions and distributed by CBS Television Distribution. Jay McGraw, Carla Pennington, Patricia Ciano and Dr. Phillip C. McGraw are executive producers.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Doctors? Will you watch the new season of this syndicated series next month? Will you miss the previous hosts?
Sorry, won’t be watching anymore – “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
I will not be watching the new format. I enjoyed the different Drs viewpoints as previously done. I’m very disappointed though not surprised due to the way main stream media is trying to control what we watch.
I cannot imagine what you were thinking. The panel of doctors were the reason people viewed the show. Why would you destroy a top rated show ? I just viewed the current episode, it was boring and lacked personality. Not a fan any longer.
You screwed this up..what the heck where you thinking..sure did not ask your viewer did you.. no more watch for this family..
Very disappointed in new format – i loved how the other doctors helped so many people and brought out illness that i have never heard off and gave understanding to them and the people that endured them – i loved the banter between the other doctors and ideas – instead of only one
I am watching the first episode of the new season and I HATE it. Dr. Ian Smith is boring. I miss the other hosts. I liked the differences of opinion that the panel of doctors had. I will give it a try for a week or so but I don’t think I will be watching for long.
The Doctor’s show is not the same with a solo host. It was fun with several medical professionals sharing their opinions. I like Dr. Ian but he was also a part of the panel. Will miss the others & the old format.
VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH NEW FORMAT. VERY MUCH MISS DR. TRAVIS & OTHERS! Watched 3 or 4 episodes & found it not to be a fraction of interest. information, humor, content, entertainment value, etc… as original show. DULL & BORING! New Dr. doesn’t seem to be as knowledgeable re: current technical medical info.,conditions, etc. as the previous MD’s. Really miss following Dr. Travis sharing his family highlights & the general “happiness” of the show, despite dealing with serious issues. New show is simply depressing! Will not watch again unless you have previous Dr’s. returning.
Sorry – but Zero Stars!
Very disappointed with the new format and just 1 host. It’s boring, there’s no humor, not quite sure if the information is accurate because I can’t get past the 1st 10 minutes of any episode I attempt to watch. I loved the chemistry between the old cast members. I think this was a horrible move.
Nope! Tried watching with new host and format but just can’t get into it. Bring the original hosts back
Very disappointed with new format. I won’t watch or record program. Bring the gang back and you will bring me back.
I will NOT watch the Doctors with their new drs and agenda. The Doctors that they had already putting on the show had new technology and health care tips , were helping ppl in their lives. If it’s not broken, why fix it. It was one of the only shows that l watched in the daytime that was exciting to see and could help ppl with illnesses , etc. , that was interesting and informative. I’d rather watch a show that isn’t all trash talk, gossip and talking constantly about racism and how unfair the world is. We are a… Read more »
Not a fan of the new format. Was very happy with previous doctors and all the subjects they discussed. Just one Doctor doesn’t do it for me. Won’t be watching anymore.
I am very disappointed in the new format of the doctors. The doctorS notice the s made the show. Why did you try to fix something that wasn’t broken.Sorry one host does not make the show.It lacks total luster.I for one will not be watching until the original doctors come back on.
I have watched 2 episodes of the new The Doctores. It’s okay, trying to readjust, but miss the old cast!
