The new ABC series called the forgotten has received a bit of good news. The network has decided to order five more installments. Does this mean that it won’t be cancelled?
Starring Christian Slater, the forgotten follows a group of civilians who work together to find missing persons once the police have reached a dead end. Aside from Slater, the series features the talents of Michelle Borth, Heather Stephens, Bob Stephenson, Rochelle Aytes, Anthony Carrigan, Judith Hoag, and Lily Rains.
Debuting on September 22nd, the forgotten got off to a slow start with just a 2.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 9.54 million total viewers. It lost a large percentage of the Dancing with the Stars lead-in audience and 12% of viewers tuned in before the hour was done.

The following week, viewership dropped to a 2.0 in the demo and 7.72 million. While overall viewership fluctuated in later weeks, the demo numbers stayed at the same disappointing level.
In a somewhat surprising move, ABC has decided to order five additional installments. Of the news, co-executive producer KristieAnne Reedd tweeted, “Very excited about the additional order of episodes for the forgotten.”
While this may seem like the network has faith in the series, it’s more likely an indication of other scheduling challenges caused by things like the cancellation of Eastwick.
Unless the forgotten’s ratings turn around, it’s difficult to imagine that ABC will order any more or invest in a second season.

Can’t say I love it but I do watch it; it is a unique take on crime drama, & I admire that. But it won’t kill me if it’s cancelled.
This is an awesome show. Me and My Husband Love this show. I’m can’t wait to find out if he is going to find his daughter. Please try another season. Plus it’s abc fault for not publizing the show more. Give it another chance.
I am captivated by this show. I am hoping that ABC will do the right thing and keep this show on the air. I also look forward to this show every week to learn about another Jane or John Doe’s story. I think that highlighting the great work that The Forgotten Network is a great by product of this show.
I love this show! it can’t be canceled i look forward to it every week…and wish i could actually be involved with a network like theirs….i love stuff like that!!!

Please don’t cancel this show ABC. I love it and honestly it’s just one of a few shows I still watch on TV anymore. I have gotten fed up with all the cancellations of really good shows, that I hardly watch anymore TV. I rather buy DVD’s and watch the same movies over and over than bad TV.
This is an excellent well developed show. Very compelling. The scripts are inventive, and the characters are complex, and real. This is a series that deserves a chance. Many times excellent shows are not given sufficient time. Please give ” The Forgotten” a chance. It is a quality show in a sea of mediocracy.
This show would have been so much better if they kept Rupert Penry-Jones in the lead instead of firing him and bringing on Christian Slater. Sorry to see a better actor ditched in favor of one with more American name recognition.
Please ABC keep this show going i love it’s uniqueness about it. It’s solving cases frm missing people reported but it’s with volunteer’s helping those people find there loved one’s. I also like the touch of how the show is told frm a first person view of the person who was killed. This show is a keeper!!!!! why don’t they take off or cancel some of that silly bs they put on tv now these day’s.
I’m so happy more of “The Forgotten” has been ordered. I love this show!!! but I’m bummed that the option to watch it online has been suspended. I can’t watch at normal times, so it’s kinda a bummer, but anyway, hopefully there are alternate routes for that if ABC doesn’t post the episodes online again. Thank you ABC for letting “The Forgotten” continue!!!
love love love this show i’m so tired of watching csi’s and ncis’s. it deserves a chance to prove to people that it is a good show. plus maybe it’ll pull some people in if i would see some publicity for the show cause i haven’t seen any.

BamBooHoney, you’re absolutely right. Move The Forgotten to a time slot and a night where it isn’t being crunched by the top shows, and I’ll be watching it every night. No, wait, I already do!
