The new ABC series called the forgotten has received a bit of good news. The network has decided to order five more installments. Does this mean that it won’t be cancelled?
Starring Christian Slater, the forgotten follows a group of civilians who work together to find missing persons once the police have reached a dead end. Aside from Slater, the series features the talents of Michelle Borth, Heather Stephens, Bob Stephenson, Rochelle Aytes, Anthony Carrigan, Judith Hoag, and Lily Rains.
Debuting on September 22nd, the forgotten got off to a slow start with just a 2.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 9.54 million total viewers. It lost a large percentage of the Dancing with the Stars lead-in audience and 12% of viewers tuned in before the hour was done.

The following week, viewership dropped to a 2.0 in the demo and 7.72 million. While overall viewership fluctuated in later weeks, the demo numbers stayed at the same disappointing level.
In a somewhat surprising move, ABC has decided to order five additional installments. Of the news, co-executive producer KristieAnne Reedd tweeted, “Very excited about the additional order of episodes for the forgotten.”
While this may seem like the network has faith in the series, it’s more likely an indication of other scheduling challenges caused by things like the cancellation of Eastwick.
Unless the forgotten’s ratings turn around, it’s difficult to imagine that ABC will order any more or invest in a second season.

Dull, slow and boring. As far as I’m concerned it’s cancelled, I’ll never watch it again.
I really enjoy the show. I hope they will keep it on and not cancel it. It is different and interesting.

A family member missing for 22 years found thanks to the Forgotten and NamUs.gov and now the cast and crew are donating money to bring this young woman’s remains home so family can bury her near her mother and grandmother. Is this not reason enough to keep The Forgotten on the air?????!!!!!
I have enjoyed this show since the beginning. It is informative being that there is such an organization out there. This series enables people who are looking for family member or friends to get in contact with authorities who may have knowledge of their missing loved ones. Please don’t cancel this program. It is superior to most of the junk that airs each week on television.

The show has really grown on me. Christian Slater is very good in this role, and his supporting cast are good actors and the charcaters likeable…. especially the very attracive Candace (Michelle Borth! )Yes, we like her! My girlfriend really likes the show as well. Let’s hope it’s her again next season and for more seasons to follow.
I do not watch a lot of television. I cannot wait every Tues night to see The Forgotten! It is a great show!!! I Love this show please dont cancel. I was excited when they announced they would return with all new episodes in Feb 9…Im looking forward to those.!! be patient ABC and promote the show more to attract more audiences… I LOVE THIS SHOW!! KEEP “THE FORGOTTEN”
I love this show! It is so good! I hope it doesn’t get cancelled. I just wanted to add my voice to the others out there who like this show to.
Please don’t cancel this show!! LOVE Christian Slater in this show, and I love the premise of the show. Although no one lives “happily ever after” at the end, there is closure for a family and a victim gets to tell their story. It’s a fresh, original show and, like another commenter Irma, I get so tired of the really good shows getting cancelled. SAVE THE FORGOTTEN!!
I QUIT WATCHING THE SHOW BECAUSE I HEARD IT WAS BEING CANCELLED. I EVEN HAD THE SHOWS ON THE TIVO AND ERASED THEM BECAUSE OF THAT

I would much rather watch EASTWICK!!!! I recorded this show and it just was not original enough for me! I love christian slater and I was really hiping for a come back! but it is very muck lacking excitement!!!
