Kalinda is out of the picture but the show must go on. CBS has renewed The Good Wife for a seventh season.
On The Good Wife, attorney and mother Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) continues to face new challenges and opportunities in both her personal and professional lives. This season, the series also starred Christine Baranski, Matt Czuchry, Archie Panjabi, Graham Phillips, Makenzie Vega, Alan Cumming, Zach Grenier, and Matthew Goode.
The sixth season of The Good Wife averaged a 1.22 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.72 million viewers. In the key demo, that’s down by 15% year-to-year but the series is up slightly in viewers.
The ratings have never been stellar so the network certainly could have cancelled the show. However, that looked unlikely since the writers were already working on next season’s installments.
What do you think? Are you a fan of The Good Wife TV show? Is it still worth watching? How much longer should CBS air it?
Now that you have added Matthew Goode to the cast (did not know he was in season 6) I will be watching it faithfully. I love this guy’s acting ability. Great choice.
Where is my show tonight ?
A superb show, brilliantly acted, brilliantly written with realistic characters and interesting plots. The mix of politics, law, romance and social comment makes each episode riveting. I really regretted Will’s departure and am sad to see Kalinda leaving, but a series as good as this even manages to survive their loss. Thank goodness it appears there will be a seventh series.
I think it must continue. It is a great show¡
I like very much this show. I think it must continue.
I really hope that Alicia will never work with Louis!!! I will miss Kalinda greatly, I’d love for her to be back. As for Finn and all the other new faces, I don’t really care for them.
I will watch as long as Juliana Marguiles, Christine Baranski, and Eli Gold are there, but I love it more with Matthew Goode. A little of Michael J. fox goes a long way, but I can’t get enough of Finn.
I also think Michael J Fox is great in his role. I saw him in a comedy serie, but is sorry to say it didn´t work any longer when his MS makes his expressions limited. He will forever be rembered in comedy for Spin City thou.
Although it was a great show, I am still disappointed that Kalinda is gone.
I was betting that Louis Canning would ask Alicia to be his partner but now I have to wonder if she will join him.
It is going to be a long time without my favorite show. 🙁
I am happy. Unfortunate time slot. Any show is pretty much snake bit on Sunday with CBS’s committment to sports on Sunday. If you choose to leave you better put your DVR on record from 7-12 otherwise you will miss the end of one or all of your shows?
LOVE IT!!!!
Really hope Good Wife should get a proper “final season” (fingers crossed).
I am heartbroken that Kalinda is leaving. Last season was not my favorite, but placing Peter in the presidential arena could improve next season.
Liked the character of Eli’s daughter.
They should have let it die last night.
This was one of my favorite shows until this season. I so hated “Cary Goes to Jail,” “Alicia Runs for State’s Attorney, Wins, Falls Victim to Cook County Corruption,” and I never want to see Lemond Bishop again.
Why did they waste Matthew Goode the way they did?
The Kings do not deserve to write for television any longer. They ruined The Good Wife.
I agree. Stop the Lemond Bishop storyline once and for all, and bring back Finn Polmer. He was great!
Getting rid of Lemond Bishop will hopefully re-invigorate Cary who has been a major downer the last two seasons.
I hope Alicia’s new firm hires that investigator with the young kids. His kids don’t age… maybe they should look into that too.
I like it a lot. In these times when polices in series can reach any information within seconds it´s nice to have show that feels real, with real people and real problems.
Has been one of the best shows on television since its debut. It’s always well-written with compelling characters and storylines. We never miss it.
Great news, Julianna Margulies is a phenomenal actress. She was a key to making the 6 seasons of ER great. If she had stayed longer, the show would be better overall. The Good Wife is truly a great show. I didn’t start watching until season 3, but I quickly caught up. Now it is the top show I watch every week. I did fear CBS would cancel, but very happy they didn’t.
