Though it’s never been hit in the ratings, CBS has been renewing The Good Wife year after year. Will this be the season when the show’s luck runs out or will it be the biggest year yet? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a seventh season? We shall see.
On The Good Wife, attorney and mother Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies) continues to face new challenges and opportunities in both her personal and professional lives. The series also stars Christine Baranski, Matt Czuchry, Archie Panjabi, Graham Phillips, Makenzie Vega, Alan Cumming, Zach Grenier, and Matthew Goode.
The higher a show’s ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better its chances for survival. New ratings data will be added as it becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/11 update: CBS has renewed The Good Wife for a seventh season.
Final season averages: 1.22 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.72 million total viewers.

Due to a Nielsen glitch, some of the early ratings of the 2014-15 season were revised a couple weeks later.
Last year comparison: The fifth season of The Good Wife averaged a 1.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.4 million total viewers.
Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you still like The Good Wife TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a seventh season?
CBS should give some loyalty to a show as excellent as TGW. Madam Secretary? and I have never seen Scorpion, but CBS gives them all the press. TGW is one of the only shows that I never miss…..I have watched it from the beginning and given the series on DVD to my daughter and love watching it again with her….I will be devastated if it does not get a 7th season!
I have been watching The Good Wife from its inception. The interplay of characters was so good, I detested the summer hiatus for robbing me of an emotionally charged tv hour. I now think CBS is crazy for removing TGW from its slot as we plod through the bleak and dreary (on tv) Holiday programming season. Those of us who watch the show regularly need closure. Alicia is no longer a wife, her very interesting son has fled the nest for college, her emotionally unaware and boring daughter is still around but all the writers can do with her character… Read more »
I don’t watch many sitcoms but The Good Wife is one of the best.come on give it a good time slot and watch the ratings explode.
I love the show but sadly it does not matter because I am not part of the rating system and so my shows keep getting cancelled.. I wish the people with those stupid systems would watch my shows and not honey boo boo, or the amazing race or whatever stupid reality shows are still on..
I wish Hollywood came up with a different way to monitor the shows..
I loved The Good Wife and can’t believe they would consider cancelling it. They say art imitates life and I think TGW perhaps hit too close to home, if you know what I mean. It is one of the only night time, grown up, tv series that isn’t just stupid. Hope this doesn’t speak for the state of our country’s intelligence factor. Sad to think!
Really enjoy the Good Wife. Miss episodes when they aren’t aired. switch to another night. Voting for episode “7”
One of the best programs there is. Give it a decent time slot on a
different night where it won’t be pre-empted continuously. The
cast and star are excellent and it is well written and produced.
It can succeed at a different slot with great ratings.
I love to sit down on Sunday night to watch the latest developments on “Good Wife”, but I am really getting annoyed with the many deferments of episodes. Eventually we avid followers will move on if this continues. Please pass these comments on to the programmers. Thanks
This is an excellent show and I have been watching since it started. However, it is very disappointing that it does not air on a regular basis. There are so few good TV episodes, and I get very frustrated with the television industry. This is an excellent show, but very frustrating that it doesn’t run on a consistent schedule. Move it to another night (when sports aren’t playing) and the ratings will go up.
Again it’s Sunday and NO Good Wife!!! Why can’t CBS move this excellent show to a better time and day with NO football interuptions? Let The Good Wife have the chance to prove itself with a constant time slot and they will see the ratings soar.
Everything about this show is great. I really hope it gets renewed for a 7th season!
Good wife is A great show it dont get great airing. keeps getting bumped. Give it equal time. I love this show BRING IT BACK
Yes it should be a 7th season. It’s ratings are poor because it keeps getting bumped by football and everything else. Give it a decent time slot and it will do GREAT.
Yes, Good Wife should be on. It’s ratings are probably down because football has caused its programing to be so iffy. A person gets sick of tuning in to watch Good Wife only to see football on and Good Wife airing an hour or so later. No wonder people quit watching. Give it a decent time slot and watch it soar.
I’m troubled by the fact that here it is Sunday night and I don’t see The Good Wife on CBS at 10pm. What is with Scorpion anyway??? I have truly enjoyed The Good Wife series and hope to see it run into a 7th season. All the characters seem to be maturing in interesting and insightful ways. Take for instance the character who plays the person who almost ended up in jail, but didn’t. Very tension ridden moments during the run-up to his eventual release. Just wish CBS would choose a different time to run the show. I don’t like… Read more »
The only positive (!) thing about Scorpion is probably because they pay far less to all actors (and maybe +writers) in the cast than they pay to Julianna Margulies only!
maybe good wife didn’t have great ratings this last Sunday night because dish TV didn’t run it. on my DVR it said “good wife”, what I was taped was an info commercial on old music. needless to say I was furious. and needless to say tomorrow I am dropping Dish Network. this isn’t the first time that something like this is happened. The Good Wife is one of the best TV programs on the air.
