The summer is over and so is The InBetween TV show on NBC. The drama series, which ran from May until August, has been cancelled and won’t be returning for season two next year.
A psychic police procedural, The InBetween stars Harriet Dyer, Paul Blackthorne, Justin Cornwell, Anne-Marie Johnson, Cindy Luna, Chad James Buchanan, Andres Joseph, Michael B. Silver, and Sean Bulger. The paranormal drama centers on Cassie Bedford (Dyer), who is gifted with abilities she often considers a curse. Cassie has unbidden visions of events past and future and is also approached by spirits who need her help in some way. She gets drawn into the cases her foster father, Seattle Police detective Tom Hackett (Blackthorne), works with his new partner, former FBI profiler and LAPD detective Damien Asante (Cornwell).
The first season of The InBetween averaged a 0.40 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.57 million viewers. Of the peacock network’s seven summer series, The InBetween ranked in last place in the demo and nearly last place in viewers (just about Hollywood Game Night).
The show’s 10th and final episode aired on August 14th and left fans with a cliffhanger that seems unlikely to be resolved.
Thanks for everyone who watched #theinbetween no second season but you can stream our 10 episodes on Hulu or the NBC app! Love you guys!

What do you think? Did you like The InBetween TV show on NBC? Would you have watched a second season in 2020?
Don’t cancel another good program for some other show that makes no sense or mystery we need more of these programs for your more mature audience……
YES! I was hoping & praying for a second season of The Inbetween. Such a shame that another fantastic show got cancelled way too soon.
I love the show. Why does every good show get canceled and the ones that suck stay on longer than they should.
Well once again. Why do you suck in viewers. And then someone decides again to leave the show with a cliff hanger. I’ve said it time and time again. I’m done with TV. Tou don’t care… Yes I liked that one too. Amazing the junk that gets kept. I’m sticking with bought movies.
WE DEFINITELY WOULD WATCH SECOND SEASON !
Too bad. I just re-watched the season (now series) finale the other day. I wish NBC would reconsider. The plots were somewhat rote, but overall it was engaging enough. I would watch regularly “on demand”.
This gets so old!!!! Once again a very good show is canceled. I think I prefer reading a book than watching this Channel
I loved this show. Sorry it was canceled. It seems all the show I love don’t return. It takes two is another example.
Liked show. Sorry to see it canceled
I loved it. I’m sorry it won’t be back.
This was a great show!! So sad and disappointing that it was canceled. It’s disgusting to see reality shows survive while the good ones ate removed
Amen!
Liked the program and am sorry they cancelled it. Would have watched it.
Why do they put new shows on in the summer when they know many are too busy to watch? It was a very interesting and good show. So much better than a lot of garbage out there. They don’t give shows a chance to build an audience anymore. I am sad it is cancelled.
It seems as though each well-done, interesting show that debuts on broadcast TV ends up doomed to one season, while appallingly stupid reality and game shows proliferate like cockroaches. Why is that? Why does the lowest common denominator win out over quality so consistently? I’ll really miss this show. It had heart and interesting storylines and a good cast and writing. Damn.
I loved the show tremendously! It is a shame that the unusual shows never seem to make it to a second season. Sadly, more people would rather watch shows that seemingly have nothing in the stories that require thinking; for them I guess reality tv is enough. Back to book reading for unusual topics to work the brain.
Summer show never perform as well as the networks want. They are just cannon fodder, they throw it out to the public if it does real well it’s a fluke. Most of the time the networks already know they are not going to bring a show back before it even airs.
