TNT has had some great ratings success with The Librarian, their series of made-for-TV movies. Now, they’ve decided to create a weekly TV show called The Librarians which introduces new characters. Will the show also be a success? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
On The Librarians, Flynn Carsen (Noah Wyle) welcomes four new people to the library organization, to help solve ancient mysteries and recover/protect historical artifacts. Together, they fight against supernatural threats — including the mysterious and immortal Dulaque (Matt Frewer) and the Serpent Brotherhood. The show stars Rebecca Romijn, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth, John Kim, and John Larroquette. Wyle, Jane Curtin, and Bob Newhart will recur in their roles from the movies.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
2/12 update: TNT has renewed The Librarians for a second season. Details here.
Final season averages: 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.78 million total viewers.

What do you think? Do you like watching The Librarians on TNT? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I watched the show out of boredom, I was like “okay, let’s give it a go” and it was the best decision ever. It’s fun, smart, the characters are great, and the episodes are very well constructed. It’s like the love child of Doctor Who, Indiana Jones and Sherlock Holmes. I really, really hope it’s going to get renewed, and honestly, the ratings are pretty decent, the show has a great future ahead, and since Noah Wyle’s Falling Skies are reaching their last season, we can even dream of having a full season with Flynn. I’m just going to cross… Read more »
I hope they renew it it’s a great show. It just sucks that it premiered during the holidays and you can see the decline in views those few weeks.
Renew!!
I will be bitterly disappointed if it doesn’t get renewed. This is the only show I have ever been adamant about buying the Bluray when it comes out but I just love this one!
This is a no-brainer. I record every episode to watch it when I feel like it. Wednesdays are bad for TV. I will watch it again. It’s great and different.
I loved the Librarians! I really hope that it is renewed!!
Great Show, can’t wait for Season 2!!
Yes my family and me would really like to see a season 2 we all like the show and the movies
Definitely need to renew for a second season.
I tuned in because it looked like the return of Bad-Ass Eliot Spencer. I was not a huge fan of the original Librarian movies (they were like the poorly funded high school productions of Indiana Jones). I didn’t think too much of the first two episodes of the tv series but I’m liking it more and more. I think Cassandra should succumb to her tumor and become the spirit in the mirror (a la Judson) and the Library should recruit Lamia to provide some continuing lust/fear for Bad-Ass Eliot …uh…Stone. John Larroquett is tragically wasted … The writers need to… Read more »
Yes, there are similarities to Warehouse 13 and Eureka. There are no new ideas under the sun. But, if you liked those shows, you will like The Librarians as well. I certainly hope it comes back for a second season. And a third and fourth season, too.
Actually, the original Librarian movies came before Warehouse 13, so if anything, W13 is similar to The Librarian.
Hope this show gets picked up for another season. Just like Leverage’s first season the characters are all a bit quirky but definitely coming along and finding their way. That’s part of a story, building the characters and getting to know more about them through the adventures. It’s a show everyone in the family can enjoy. Yes it has similarities to other shows but the storyline is developing as the season goes along. Glad Mr. Devlin and his crew are working on it and can’t wait to see where it goes.
2nd season. Definitely a second season or extension of the current one and then a second season. Please? Pretty please? Don’t leave us hanging at season end only to have it be a series end too.
After seeing the first Librarian movie I though it would make a great TV show and I was right. They went in a total different direction with making it into a TV show then I thought they would. But adding more Librarians is a great twist. I feel this TV show should be renewed for a second season and the season needs to be twice as long. I see great possibilities for this show.
I hope it gets renewed. It’s a great show.
