The show was in danger of being cancelled but CBS has decided to renew The Mentalist for a seventh season.
On The Mentalist, the Red John mystery is over and the very observant Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) continues to help solve other cases in Texas. Also starring in the show are Robin Tunney, Tim Kang, Owain Yeoman, Amanda Righetti, Emily Swallow, and Rockmond Dunbar.
There’s no word on the episode order for season seven as yet but it will likely be for 13 installments, which will wrap up the series.

Hollywood has run out of original ideas for a long time now. The Mentalist is a refreshing show with its own trademark. Canceling it proves that Hollywood is running itself into the ground. I’m tired of remakes of old shows, copying other shows… If they cancel The Mentalist, it means that there are idiots running CBS.

I’m thrilled the Mentalist is continuing!!! And if CBS DOESNT WSNT IT BACK AFTER THE 7th season, maybe TNT will take it for an 8th and on…..! If it’s a popular show, surely the excellent writers will come up with new exciting material! Please, remember the desires of your viewers!!!

i think they decided that from the begin of the show … or at least from season 5
i think maybe red john will be back or some other one from the society that work on it … i saw a trailer that show his daughter back .. for real this time … i dont know what the show hidden surprises for us
