You know that old line about “Please, don’t shoot the messenger”? Well, The CW has done just that. The network has cancelled The Messengers after one season. Only three episodes have aired thus far.
On The Messengers TV show, a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes in a blinding flash. It sends out a shock wave that instantly connects five strangers. They receive extraordinary gifts, from inexplicable strength to the ability to heal others. The cast includes Shantel VanSanten, Jon Fletcher, Sofia Black-D’Elia, J. D. Pardo, Joel Courtney, Anna Diop, and Diogo Morgado.
The move to cancel the series doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The Messengers has performed quite poorly so far, even for a Friday night show. Last week’s installment hit a new low with just 650,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
For now, it looks like the series will stay on the air to finish out its run of 13 total episodes.

I am so angry that CW cancelled this show. I really like The Messengers. With all of the junk shown on TV and they have to cancel The Messengers, which is an AWESOME show. I’m sure if they advertised the show more people would start watching it and fall in love with the show. Please reconsider and renew The Messengers.
Honestly, I like this show. At first it seemed to be a little bit off, but with each episode it has gotten better. I feel that cancelling it after 3 episodes is not giving it a fair shot. The general plot is perhaps cliche, but still good. Call me a sucker for supernatural TV, but I would like to see how the show does in another time slot. My husband and l enjoyed the series of the messages and would a season two to be made.
I don’t understand how a show can be cancelled after 3 episodes. First it needs to be advertised better and then give time to develop. I have watched every episode and have been thoroughly entertained. I guess this shows quick demise is an example of living in an instant society. Too bad, was proving to be pretty good.
The show gets better and better. Please give it another chance. We need a season 2

I love the messengers! I believe that other than a few other shows, that The Messengers is one of the CW networks best shows. I am sad to know that it will be cancelled after just one season, but I almost suspected it. So sad though. 🙁
This is a great program and shouldn’t be cancelled. I turned my family onto it and we have a program we all enjoy on a Friday Night!!!! Going to see what we’ve missed in previous episodes only to learn you’re canceling future programming without giving it a sufficient chance. Give us another season!!!!
This show wasn’t promoted enough. I really enjoyed what this program brings and I only found it existed when surfing Friday night programming.
It should be renewed for Season 2! You left us hanging with the fate of Mankind in the balance. That’s just plain mean!
Watching all episodes of this show makes me so angry it was canceled. They are building such intrigue with a great cast. I can’t believe next week is the final episode. Please bring this show back, it’s so entertaining and suspenseful.
I can’t believe they’d cancel such an awesome show! My husband and I love it! Please bring back The Messengers! !! Do us a favor CW and quit cancelling shows before they have a chance to grab viewers.
I really enjoy this show and am very sad it was cancelled before it even had a start to catch on. The overall message was uplifting in it’s religious overtones. Sure wish the network would reconsider and give it a chance.
The CW is a great channel, however it doesn’t seem like you give some shows a chance.
