You know that old line about “Please, don’t shoot the messenger”? Well, The CW has done just that. The network has cancelled The Messengers after one season. Only three episodes have aired thus far.
On The Messengers TV show, a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes in a blinding flash. It sends out a shock wave that instantly connects five strangers. They receive extraordinary gifts, from inexplicable strength to the ability to heal others. The cast includes Shantel VanSanten, Jon Fletcher, Sofia Black-D’Elia, J. D. Pardo, Joel Courtney, Anna Diop, and Diogo Morgado.
The move to cancel the series doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The Messengers has performed quite poorly so far, even for a Friday night show. Last week’s installment hit a new low with just 650,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
For now, it looks like the series will stay on the air to finish out its run of 13 total episodes.

IM actually watching the show on netflix and it’s really good. Then my husband end up watching it too then the whole family started. We all actually love this show. It’s a great show that shouldn’t be canceled so please put it back on aired.

I would very much like to see the series continue. It posed some interesting existential questions and the basic idea that we have to work together on this planet to survive could not be more timely. Atheist, believer, different races… global warming won’t arrive as fast as a meteor but its arrival is just as implacable if we don’t work together to survive as a species, not as _____ fill in the blank with your own example. again, another good show gets cancelled before it even gets a fair chance. I am giving up on tv. Unless it is some reality garbage it will just be cancelled. Shame on you CW for being just as awful as all the other stations!

I have just finished watching The Messengers excellent show I’m really upset there’s no season 2. Come on people you have folks that actually like this show. Seriously PUT IT BACK ON!!!
Netflix will get it. I never saw a single preview for it while I was watching TV. Granted I only watch what’s recorded on my dvr, but if I had I would’ve ether tuned in or recorded it. Netflix is my main source for watching shows.
