You know that old line about “Please, don’t shoot the messenger”? Well, The CW has done just that. The network has cancelled The Messengers after one season. Only three episodes have aired thus far.
On The Messengers TV show, a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes in a blinding flash. It sends out a shock wave that instantly connects five strangers. They receive extraordinary gifts, from inexplicable strength to the ability to heal others. The cast includes Shantel VanSanten, Jon Fletcher, Sofia Black-D’Elia, J. D. Pardo, Joel Courtney, Anna Diop, and Diogo Morgado.
The move to cancel the series doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The Messengers has performed quite poorly so far, even for a Friday night show. Last week’s installment hit a new low with just 650,000 viewers and a 0.2 rating in the 18-49 demographic.
For now, it looks like the series will stay on the air to finish out its run of 13 total episodes.

I too just found this show on Netflex love it. Why do the networks always cancel some of the better shows.
The Messangers is a great show! You guys always cancel shows the give God any glory. We have had enough of shows with demonic overtones!!!!

I happen to like the show even though some pars where corny. Anything that has to do with biblical a huge majority of people do not like which I think is sad to say. I was disappointed that they canceled but not surprised by it.
So disappointed they canceled the show. I watched the entire 13 episode and now I have no seen like second season. Left with a cleft hanger. … no bueno.
Just started watching this show 3 days ago on Netflix and can not stop watching it. Finishing last episode today, please bring back for season2. A lot of people do not watch cable TV anymore, that is probably why the ratings was so low. It rates 5 stars on Netflix.

I am in the demographic range 49 and I really liked this show. Very disappointed it’s been cancelled. Netflix needs to bring this back. The unfortunate issue is the cast has moved on to other things. But with so many quality performers I’m sure they would have no issue finding a crew to fit.

I didn’t know this show existed until I saw it on Netflix. After I saw the first episode I was hooked.Now that I’ve finished watching season 1 I hear you’re not going to have a second season.that’s too bad.this is a good show,with good scripture thrown in ,with characters that pull you in. I’m 55 and not part of your so called target audience but if it was better promoted I think more people would watch show. Your cast of actors are so perfect Together. I didn’t know it existed either was trying to watch 12 monkeys and showed the messengers act of God saying I should watch it I say yes So bring back give Netflix exclusive rights
