TV show description:
In this supernatural dramatic series, a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes in a blinding flash. It sends out a shock wave that instantly connects five strangers. They receive extraordinary gifts, from inexplicable strength to the ability to heal others.
In the white-hot sun of the New Mexico desert, scientist Vera Buckley (Shantel VanSanten) watches in fascination as a mysterious object plummets to Earth and explodes in a blinding flash, sending out a shock wave that briefly stops Vera’s heart and panics her techie coworker, Alan Harris (Craig Harris).
Vera is not the only one affected by the blast; she is instantly and mysteriously connected to four other strangers, who also collapse only to miraculously come back to life.
Erin Calder (Sofia Black-D’Elia) is a young mother who’s desperate to protect her seven-year-old daughter from an abusive ex-husband.
Peter Moore (Joel Courtney) is a troubled high school student who is finally able to end the constant bullying he can no longer endure
Raul Garcia (J. D. Pardo) is a federal agent who’s looking to escape his undercover assignment in a violent Mexican drug cartel.
Finally, Joshua Silburn, Jr. (Jon Fletcher) is a charismatic second-generation televangelist who’s following in his father’s footsteps.
Most mysterious of all is the figure known only as The Man (Diogo Morgado). He offers Vera the one thing she wants most in life -– to be reunited with her kidnapped son. This gift comes with a price however and he asks her to help him with one morally complicated task.
That task puts Vera on a collision course with nurse Rose Arvale (Anna Diop) who, after a seemingly random act of violence left her in a coma for seven years, suddenly begins to stir.
As Joshua Jr. prophesied, the wheels of Revelation have begun to turn, and these five newly christened Angels of the Apocalypse may be the only hope for preventing the impending Rapture.
Episode #13 — Houston We Have a Problem
The Messengers face off against the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, whose plan to break the fifth seal could destroy everything our heroes hold dear. It’s up to The Messengers to stop the Horsemen once and for all — at any cost.
First aired: July 24, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like The Messengers TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
The Messengers isa gret show! Please consider giving it some more time before cancelling it.
How could they cancel something concerning God….There are so many boring series that deserved cancelling.
The answer Bree is the world doesn’t know God anymore. They rather see shows about evil. I like the show and like them to give it a chance. I’m a Christian and Jesus said the world hates you because they hated me first. Or words to that affect.
The answer, Bree and Laura, isn’t that nobody knows god, it’s that the human race is finally shedding its superstitions for modern science and education and technology, and growing up. Plus, we’ve had enough of the religious whacknuts causing chaos that we’re systematically bringing about your worst delusional nightmare – the anti christ. But the anti christ isn’t a single person. It’s a sentiment. It’s a paradigm that’s finally growing up and putting away childish, silly mythologies and embracing reality. Lots of amazing *real* things so much better than a psychopathic imaginary friend with anger issues…things like stem cell research,… Read more »
I would love to live where you do Lexie. What country/planet is it because I will pick up an move there tomorrow, A place where we have gotten away from intolerance, hatred molestation of children, raping and degradation of women sounds like an amazing places to live.
Well until that place exist here on Earth I guess I will just have to rely on my faith in Jesus.,
Amen to you. Agree. Faith is the answer. They always take off great shows like ” Touch by an Angel” and “Highway to Heaven” anything that has to do with God. Glad NBC was smart enough to show “A.D” on their network.
I have to ask you. Who do you think gave scientist their knowledge. GOD, he gives it when he thinks humanity is ready and hopefully it IS used for the good. Each generation of scientist through the years thought they knew it all but they are wrong. They will always discover more and more. It will never end because GOD is the only one who knows. I suggest you read The Bible. And NO I’m not a religious fanatic.
Cancelled.oh no.there are other movie that need to be cancelled not this
