When The Nate Berkus Show was cancelled earlier this year, some thought that Berkus’ old friend Oprah Winfrey should bring his TV series over to the OWN channel. Well, that’s exactly what’s happened.
Unfortunately, OWN has merely picked up the existing two seasons of Nate Berkus and won’t be producing any new installments. Though local stations can continue to air the Berkus show until September 7th, many have already pulled it off the air.
OWN has also purchased the rights to show the first five seasons of Rachael Ray, a series that continues to run in daytime.
Here’s the press release:

What do you think? Are you happy that you’ll be able to continue to be able to watch the two seasons of Nate Berkus on OWN?
WELL I GOT MY ANSWER, BUT DON’T LIKE IT. I AM SO SORRY NATE WAS CANCELED. I HAVE BEEN WATCHING YOUR SHOW SINCE THE BEGINNING AND WAS GLAD WHEN NATE CAME ABOARD AND THEN HAD HIS OWN SHOW. I’M COMING FROM BALTIMORE MARYLAND AND WAS WATCHING BOTH OF YOU ON CHANNEL 11. I’M WITH COMCAST BUY ON BUDGET AND GET OPT. 20, AND CAN’T GET YOUR SHOW. YOU ARE ON MY INTERNET AND THAT IS HOW I FOUND OUT WHAT HAPPENED. I REALLY MISS YOU OPRAH, I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST AND ALSO NATE. TAKE CARE AND GOD BLESS.… Read more »
If Oprah has her own network Why is she only doing re-runs. Owners should request new shows really. Not understanding all these re-runs Oprah lets get new things. Do not want to watch all the things we’ve seen already & now-a-days we can buy the dvd’s of anyshow.
HGTV doesn’t do shows in the talk show format, but would have loved to see a 30 minute show with Nate on HGTV regardless. I loved Nate’s show on ABC, and suspected something was up when one of his producers left earlier this season. It was a shame they spent the expense of moving him to NY only to cancel him. It seems good, wholesome shows just do not survive these days. It would be interesting to see him do a home decor version of the “Look for Less” – similar to the old Style network series.
It was refreshing to watch Nates’ show. It seems that all the “nice” shows are being cancelled/ removed. It was clean, informative, no one was hanging out their ‘dirty laundry ‘ in the public to air. What a shame..maybe HGTV will pick it up? HINT HINT!
Sorry to loose Nate Show. Was a joy to watch, since HGTV only wants to sell & decorate 3 million dollar homes. Problem with OWN is all old reruns. Disappointed in her network. Will miss all the good ideas & fun Nate offered.
Another talk show is not what we need in daytime!!!!
I loved the show. Re-runs don’t work.
I think that they made a big mistake to stop airing The Nate Show. It is my favorite daytime show and always has such a variety of great information about decorating, style and food to name a few. I am so sad to see it go and although I will watch re-runs on OWN I agree that it would be so much better to see new episodes that will change with the times!
Who wants to watch a show we’ve already watched? Decorating changes daily…how can the show stay current when it’s old news?
I think ABC is making a big mistake. Nate’s show is one of most interesting shows on in the morning. So many design and decorating ideas come from this show. I just hope the show gets picked up somewhere not just reruns but for new seasons.
Yes, it is (or was) a good show but ABC doesn’t own it, Harpo (Oprah’s production company) owns the show. Nate was a syndicated show meaning it aired on different channels at different times throughout the country and the world. I too hope to see a revival of the show .
Plz don’t go to OWN. Your show will truly die there. No disrespect intended. I love
your show. The variety and content were always entertaining and informative.
I’m sure you will prosper in anything you do. I will keep am eye out on all types of media for you. Best of luck.
I don’t understand why all the good shows are being taken off the air and replaced with shows that aren’t worth watching. This was an informative, popular, and useful program.
I am concerned re the Nate Berkus show being cancelled. The re runs are fine:however will it be possible to continue new shows with Nate Berkus?
I think the Nate Berkus skow is one of the best shows on T V and am concerned that it was cancelled. Rather than watch reRuns on the OWN network, is it possible to continu new shows? Thank you.
I am so upset that The Nate Berkus show has been taken off the air. Everyday I looked forward to watching the show. I have to say, with ideas I got by watching his show I was able to decorate a condo that I purchased. I have gotten many compliments and attribute them to The Nate Berkus show. I will definitely watch reruns on the OWN Network. I am hoping that new episodes will be taped so that I can continue to get great decorating ideas and DIY projects. I will miss his warm personality.
I am so happy to be able to see Nate on TV again. NBC really missed the mark canceling his show. It was a little of everything nice. Decorating, fashion, entertaining, cooking, etc. I guess the people in charge never heard of giving the show a chance! He made so many people happy. It was so nice to see all the makeovers. I think he will be a better fit on OWN anyway. Good luck and I hope there will be new shows made soon!
