There won’t be a third season of The Queen Latifah Show. Sony Pictures TV has cancelled the syndicated talk show after two seasons. New episodes will continue to air through March 2015.
In a statement, Sony said, “We want to thank Dana [Latifah], the producers and the entire staff of The Queen Latifah Show for creating a program that we are all very proud of. Thank you also to our terrific station partners and advertisers who supported the show.”
Latifah posted the following on her Facebook page, as a message to herself and her staff:
Dear Dana,
Just a little note to say Thank You…
Thank you for your strong work ethic and great effort in getting The Queen Latifah Show off the ground and running.
Your dedication and sacrifice was crucial to the entire team, and in the face of intense challenges, you displayed “True Grit”!
Your Family, Partners, Staff and Crew showed up with you every step of the way. Be very proud of that! Not everyone can say the same.
You can also say you have been a blessing to and been blessed by amazing guests and incredible audiences for this show.
We truly changed people’s lives for the better.
So… STAY POSITIVE, STAY STRONG, and most importantly, STAY OPEN… There is so much more God has in store!
Lovingly, You!
P.S. This letter is for me, my staff, my crew, and everyone who was by my side for this incredible journey. The most important thing in life is that you wake up every single day and take chances. No matter what the outcome…believe in yourself and continue to fly.
What do you think? Will you miss The Queen Latifah Show?
What a pity! A good clean, refreshing, positive program. She didn’t have to resort to gossip and **** to to entertain us. Queen Latina is proof positive of the nobility of her character in her letter to her self, staff, and fans. What a fabulous woman.
Queen was a natural. I enjoyed her show immensely. It is sad we will not have her for another season. I can think of other shows that should have gotten the booth. With the determination Queen has I’m sure she will emerged stronger and better. Look live the Queen.
The Queen deserves more respect than this! Not ONE thing wrong with her show. Must be some haters in the hierarchy pulling this stunt. Queen, go to another network, please, this is a great show!!
I THINK HER SHOW WAS DONE WITH CHARM AND WAS THOROUGHLY ENTERTAINING.
here is a show with great and interesting guests, funny little skits, good music ,very entertaining, and now you cancel it. please no more fake reality shows. bring her back.
The Queen Latifah show is one of the best talk shows on TV.
Latifah exudes love and understanding to all of her guests, and audience members.
She doesn’t fake it… She’s authentic, and should have never been considered for cancellation.
She asks great questions of her guests and doesn’t make them feel uncomfortable.
She’s multi-talented!
Whoever decided to cancel this very positive and professional Talk Show, needs to have his/her employment cancelled.
personally! I think it suckkkks that they are cancelling the show’ it is so refreshing and has the best of the best in guest’ and the contributions that she give to those who don’t or cannot have their voices heard she has them on the show, not to mention how funny she is and how she connects with her audience, please do not!!! take her off and give no reason, that’s fowl… not many shows do I connect to right away because I already have my line-up so it take sometime if I get to it at all, but the… Read more »
I like the Queen show, she is so full of life and seem to love what she does. Queen make you enjoy her show, you feel like you are a part of her show. When a show comes on that kids can watch as well as adults it gets cancelled, this is so sad.
I just retired in Dec 2013. I enjoyed the show and I make sure I am home at 2:00pm
everyday to watch the Queen’s show. Good programming and guest. Please bring her show back.
Real positive show in general… not just because or even though…how ever you want to put it…Period Awesome Show will definitely be MISSED!
Why did she not state she is a lesbian. Everyone knows she is.
What does her being or not a lesbian have to do with her show being cancelled
It is such a tragedy to remove such an enlighting television show for we women of color, for what reason ???? The Queen is real ,classy, wholesome and downright empowering.Yet is it because there is no filth ,mud slinging, cursing or weave pulling that seems to be the trend now. Here is a show that can hold it’s own and there goes the axe ! WOW ,this is MAJOR BS BIG TIME.Ok fans let’s get behind Queen Latifah especially now that her mother is going through the fight of her life. OK SONY what’s the real deal what slop are you bringing to the… Read more »
I simply do not like the Queen Latifah show. She is so corny and boring as a host.
CBS does it again, takes a perfectly great show and cancels it. For what I wonder? some other piece of crap show !!!
It says that Sony Pictures cancelled it, not CBS.
The show was cancelled because it had low ratings. Ratings are the number of viewers that watch the show. The higher the ratings a show gets the more money the show can charge for advertising. Producing and airing a television show is very costly, so the show MUST bring in a minimum amount of viewers just to stay in production. If that minimum number isn’t reached consistently, then, unfortunately, the production must be stopped, no matter how loyal the fan base is. So, although Sony and CBS appear to be the bad guys here, the truth is that you viewers… Read more »
I love the show. I believe that it should stay on the air. They’re not saying why they’ve cancelled it.
