Last season, ABC tried a murder mystery reality show with the Whodunnit? series. It didn’t do very well. Now they’re trying another fantasy competition with The Quest. Will this one be a ratings success and be renewed for a second season, or will it be cancelled too? Stay tuned!
On The Quest, a dozen everyday people are transported to a fantasy world called Everealm where they have adventures and compete to be the last “true hero” remaining. The cast includes Peter Windhofer, Jan Hutter, Marcello de Nardo, Susanne Gschwendtner, Stephanie Buddenbrock, Florence Kasumba, Mai Duong Kieu, and Doug Tait.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
Update: Will ABC be renewing The Quest for a second season?
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.94 million total viewers.

Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like The Quest TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a second season?
I don’t like “reality shows”, but this had me enthralled and totally interested. Would love to see a second season.
This show is interesting. I’d love to see more seasons and even apply to be on it!
I just clicked on this on net flicks and honestly I am said I never heard of it before. This shoe has epic ninja warrior level potential. I jumped on line after watching the intro to see if there are try outs and I see this. I hope the show makes it for a second season. I actually don’t typically care for reality TV but this may change things.
I think the reason that the ratings weren’t so good is because it didn’t have enough publicity. I found this on Netflix too because it showed up on my suggestions column, and I thought it was a great idea. Had I heard about this while it was on the air I would have watch it religiously and told my friends about it and the whole thing. I already told all of my friends to watch it on Netflix, and they LOVED it! Somewhere else someone said that they didn’t know the world, but now we all do because we watched… Read more »
Addvertise this show better I not only want that show to come back again, but I would kill for the chance to be on the show myself.
I live outside US and just happen to bumped into show few months ago. The series got great potential. All contestant were VERY genuinely enthusiastic to be on the show all the way till they were banish. Storyline can be improve to make it more seamless, flawless and reasonable. Props and special effect are great! The only thing in my mind the reason for low view ratings is because of POOR advertisement campaign. It need more exposure and new marketing strategy. With the same strategy use, the fate of ALL other upcoming reality shows shall meet share the same fate.… Read more »
My wife and I both thoroughly loved the show! I don’t care if they were all actors or if the entire show was scripted or if it was half and half. It was entertaining, funny, sad, and we couldn’t wait for the next episode! Crio, Ansgar, the Queen and even the Grand Vizier all played their parts superbly! And the way each Paladin vaporized as they left then displayed high on the wall, was pure genius. I can’t say enough good things about the show. You held our interest the entire season because of the set, the costumes and makeup,… Read more »
I liked the idea of the show and it got me to watch the premiere. However, by episode three, realized it’s premise was bogus. It was advertised as the show where geeks and intellect would rule, but all the challenges were mostly brute force type stuff. I liked the story, but it was a glorified survivor due to the way it was handled. Great idea, very poor execution.
What fan base? Look at the numbers. Yes I know there are some of you who found this show great. There always are but don’t kid yourselves. This show didn’t draw the kind of viewership needed for a major network show to survive nor were its challenges/contests that convincing. Half the competitors have at least a movie or TV show to their credit which led many detractors to wonder if the show was scripted beyond the obvious scripting of the various supporting characters. The large number of people in the acting cast (knights, chamberlain, fates, queen, page etc.) must also… Read more »
I LOVED it and think it would be a cool idea to go for a second season. Maybe continue the story of freeing the other realms maybe? It would have done better maybe with viewers had there been better advertising for it because the fan base is there, just need to tap into it better!
This show was truly amazing. Who would think to combine fantasy with reality competition? Now, reading the other comments on here made me want to leave my two cents worth. The “lack of fantasy” could easily be because this is a new series, and the last series ABC tried to broadcast (whodunit), they probably were not sure of how today’s viewer would take to this new TV idea. With an average of 4.4 million viewers, I would say that this was a success! Renewing their contract for another series can only improve it’s content and worth! They could collect more… Read more »
This show is awesome and I would like to see more of Sir Ansgar. The only thing that
would make this more awesome is if the “creatures and villains” would stay around for
a little more to make it more believable. Otherwise, it was great~ so please at least renew
for a second season. Thanks!
After watching to the end I’m disappointed that the producers of the show weren’t creative enough to capture a larger audience. I found some of the challenges to be interesting, the competitors to be enthusiastic, and the actors (especially Sir Ansgar) to be entertaining. However, given the fact that movie franchises based on fictional worlds, such as Star Wars and Lord of the Rings have massive fan bases, I think the show could have done so much better in the ratings. One idea that occurred to me is to have had a great fantasy author write a book about Everealm… Read more »
All they would need to do is have a good fantasy writer on the set for the script. I agree with you 100%, and our sentiments are pretty much the same. Fantasy is not some unusual genre that people are not into. With the ratings and $$$ that the Hobbit brought in, there’s a BIG audience. But people love to see elaborate, beautiful, immersive fantasy worlds. Again, I agree with you – while I loved the show, it did lack creativity. There were no mythological creatures, witches, warlocks, or tons and tons of magick to really spice things up. Where… Read more »
The Quest was an outstanding reality tv competition with a very family friendly story line! This show brought out people’s excellent character traits which is vastly different then the back stabbing behavior that is the hallmark of every other reality show. What made this unique was it intermixed a scripted story centered around each competition. I found myself and my kids too, cheering for Shondu every episode because we agreed that he embodied all the traits we felt represented a true hero. I myself would love to be on this show, and I speak for my whole family who enjoyed… Read more »
This show was AWESOME!!! Please make some more of them!
In watching the quest for the first episode, I actually thought it was just a new story type TV show, and I love my medieval fantasy stuff, so I totally was up for giving it a try. When I found out it was reality game show kind of thing, I was even more thrilled, because these were every day people, people you might seen on TV for MMA or a person you might pass on the street on your way to work. The story surely kept me going, the people kept me cheering, the challenges I found really interesting. At… Read more »
