A superhero comedy based on Edlund’s long-running comic, The Tick stars Peter Serafinowicz, Griffin Newman, Valorie Curry, Brendan Hines, Yara Martinez, Scott Speiser, and Jackie Earle Haley. The story unfolds in place in a world where superheroes have been real for many many years and follows a nervous accountant, Arthur Everest (Newman), and a strange (sometimes clueless) blue superhero named The Tick (Serafinowicz). Together, they begin an adventure that’s filled with crazy super villains, dangerous vigilantes, and freakish superheroes.
The pilot of The Tick was released in August 2016 and the 11 additional episodes of the first season were released in two batches, in August 2017 and February 2018. The 10 episodes of season two were unveiled on April 5th of this year.
Edlund revealed that The Tick had been cancelled by Amazon via a Twitter post:
I'm sorry to say Amazon has chosen not to proceed with @TheTickTV I'm not sorry to say I love this show, its cast, its story, and its message. Destiny demands that my compatriots and I now seek a new home for this series.

Best show ever, I would pay to watch it. If it had been promoted it would have been one of the most watched. A quality show.

This version of the tick added the right amount of humor and drama…… i would live a season 3
The tick must not die! It’s such an amazingly good show. I was a big fan of all previous versions of the tick but this one is the best by far such a fantastic cast and so well written. Please fight hard as hard as you can it’s your destiny to continue this show and mine to continue watching it. Tick! Tick! Tick! Tick! Tick!

I’m sad to see it go. This one is so much better done, than the original live action one was.
There are no words to express the grand disappointment we LunaTicks are experiencing from Amazon’s truly awful desicion to cancel what is arguably the best show they have on their Prime platform. It was a huge mistake; one I pray some other source will have the grace to rectify. I will watch The Tick on whatever source renews it and the one who does shall have a legion of eternally loyal admirers and supporters.
