A superhero comedy based on Edlund’s long-running comic, The Tick stars Peter Serafinowicz, Griffin Newman, Valorie Curry, Brendan Hines, Yara Martinez, Scott Speiser, and Jackie Earle Haley. The story unfolds in place in a world where superheroes have been real for many many years and follows a nervous accountant, Arthur Everest (Newman), and a strange (sometimes clueless) blue superhero named The Tick (Serafinowicz). Together, they begin an adventure that’s filled with crazy super villains, dangerous vigilantes, and freakish superheroes.
The pilot of The Tick was released in August 2016 and the 11 additional episodes of the first season were released in two batches, in August 2017 and February 2018. The 10 episodes of season two were unveiled on April 5th of this year.
Edlund revealed that The Tick had been cancelled by Amazon via a Twitter post:
I'm sorry to say Amazon has chosen not to proceed with @TheTickTV I'm not sorry to say I love this show, its cast, its story, and its message. Destiny demands that my compatriots and I now seek a new home for this series.

I just don’t get it. I loved the cartoon, the 1st live series was lame but cool at the same time and this one was really good. You have a hit and it is canceled just like many other hits yet what is deemed garbage like Star Trek Discovery and Picard get to stay on the air. This boils down to some pencil neck that sits behind a desk with no other job but to follow market stats instead of what fans want. It seems everytime I find a show that is funny and entertaining, next thing you know it’s cancelled. Who’s idea was that? I would watch it if The Tick was on another venue for sure!

The Tick was an good cartoon, but the show series was way better! Pretty lame Amazon cancels it after only two seasons. Serious let down
I and my entire family loved this new and outstanding version of the Tick. I was waiting for season three I got curious and searched to see what happened to season three and found out it was canceled. Amazon made a bad choice I sure hope somehow someone who knows good clean fun in a show will save our heroes from dying by Executive orders rather then audience non participation

Where the Tick goes, we will follow. We binge watched both seasons, and have binge watched both seasons a few times since. So sad to see Amazon doing such a disservice to their customers.
I love the show. I got very emotional when the Tick did silly stupid stuff, but that’s what makes him the Tick. The actors were superb in their rolls. BRING IT BACK!!!!
This show is the only reason I got this silly service. I love quirky shows like this and every time I fall in love with one they cancel it. If this happens to letterkenny I gonna lose my snacks all over somebody. Figure it out.
RENEW IT!!! My kids and I just finished – couldn’t help binge watching it was so cute and fun. How could Amazon not renew it???? It was unique and creative 🙁

My jaw literally dropped when I read that the Tick was cancelled!! Yes it’s stupid funny and irreverent, but it’s the closest to the perfect show to watch with my teenaged grandkids!!!
I’m VERY disappointed. It makes me want to say WHY?? Not enough nasty language and nasty sex scenes?

Everyone go binge watch both seasons over and over again and maybe they will bring it back like Fox did with Family Guy.
Disney plus would be great for The Tick season 3!!!!!
I just finished binging both seasons for the first time. This show was so funny, and enticing. Kept me guessing, and laughing. Now I’m mad because I want a season 3. The Tick is apart of comic history and deserves glory! I love this show, please get it on Hulu or Netflix. Even Disney+, I don’t care, just bring it back.
Yes that is exactly what I want! But come on Amazon Prime are you really that bad of a company that you get rid of one of your best sellers, think of all the people who will never no what happened , pondering on superior, do what is right chum and bring it back!!
