TV show description:
Detective Casey Shraeger (Amber Tamblyn) starts her day as an undercover hooker working for the NYPD vice department but is suddenly and unexpectedly transferred to the division’s homicide unit. The young officer finds herself thrust into a crazy world that’s full of dark humor, bodies, and bullets. Casey’s immediately partnered with Detective Jason Walsh (Jeremy Renner). Their first assignment together isn’t any easy one — find the killer of Walsh’s former partner.
As the pair seeks out the cop killer, Casey begins to realize that the force is full of secrets and that’s just fine considering she has a few of her own. It’s also a place where it helps to have a twisted sense of humor, since every day could be your last.
Partners Eric Delahoy (Adam Goldberg) and Leo Banks (Harold Perrineau) are polar opposites. Delahoy has a serious deathwish while Banks is so cautious that he refuses to remove his bulletproof vest.
Detective Eddie Alvarez (Kai Lennox) is a practical joke-playing social climber who has no problem stealing cases if they’ll get him some front-page coverage in the papers.
Meanwhile, Detective Henry Cole (Josh Close) is a religious guy who’s trying to keep his secret past from both his streetwise partner, Allison Beaumont (Monique Gabriela Curnen), and Sgt. Harvey Brown (Terry Kinney), who is struggling to rid the 2nd precinct of corruption.

Sometimes you are in agreement with the Network guys who make the decisions on the life and death of a TV show. In the case of the Unusuals, I believe that they just made a bad decision. Who knows, maybe they were all stoned when they met to decide the fate of this very enjoyable series, with a set of actors that play their characters so wonderfully. But, maybe sometimes there just is no logic in what people decide. Maybe we should bane Channel 7 WABC, until they start making some “right” decisions.
I am so disappointed! I love this show….it’s smart and witty – and very entertaining. I can’t believe this excellent show is going to be cancelled!
Where can we complain to get this to stay on the air??? How did we get Hill St. Blues to stick around.
Where have all the smart shows gone? To cancellation. There is no patience any more to develop an audience. The Unusuals is a worthy show – it’s a funny, smart, layered series. I shall miss it – particularly since I refuse to watch the stardard fare of cop show franchises.
Though I enjoy the Unusuals, it probably costs too much money, and we all know how TV executives want to sell cheap schlock to their advertisers, at high ad rates.
Perhaps the advertisers can rebel, and stop paying for grotty TV shows. Wouldn’t that be nice…
I for one am now going to wait until a show has finished its first season and is picked up for a second before I start watching it.
This sucks. I really like the aspect that they portray in this show, its not like other cops shows it has so humor added in, its great. I petition to have this show come back.
I cannot believe you are getting rid of this show!! This show is actually a very addicting show!! It is the ONLY show that I hated to actually have to wait a week before I could watch another episode. Seriously…you really need to think this one through and get rid of the person who made THIS decision! You always seem to make the wrong decisions and get rid of the good shows…don’t make this one of them!! Keep this show going and I bet it will be around for a long time!
Unbelievable! Another GREAT show being cancelled! This makes no sense. The Unusuals is a TERRIFIC SHOW. I can only hope another network will keep it going!
It is frustrating: TV companys want us, the public, to show interest on their series, but they keep cancelling the good ones, like The Unusualls, The Eleven hour. I hate them, but I have a proposition: why don’t you create a more efective way of measuring the public opinion about the series before cancelling them? Like an exclusive Website for that? Nobody really knows how they get their statistics. Are they real or adjusted to they volatile convenience? why us, the public, should suffer from their variable interests? I protest and demand to be respected as viewer. Do not include… Read more »
Of all the new shows I watched this year this one is my favorite. I like the tempo, the off beat characters and the intelligent dialogue. Give this one another chance. This show is stylistic and fun.
This is one of the good ones!!!!!! Most of the network seems to be in love with reality shows. What’s wrong with a little escape now and then??? This one had humor, a plot that seems plausible, good acting and likeable characters, not idiots……unless you count Eddie Alverez. PUT IT BACK!!!!!!!!
The Unusuals is a great show, it just needs a good timeslot and more advertising. Good shows are not given a chance anymore.
I am soooo sick of ABC canceling interesting shows. First Pushing Daisies, Life on Mars, Cupid, now The Unusuals. I don’t know why I bother even trying to watch new shows when they are so quickly dropped. When they leave crap like Dancing with the (not really) stars and The View on, please. The Unusuals, was an interesting take on a cop show, with a fantastic cast. ABC executives should get their heads out of their asses. Most people I know don’t actually watch TV when it is scheduled anymore. Most of us view Television online when it is easier… Read more »
I love The Unusuals!!! I am sooooooo sick of ABC cancelling every show I watch. I should just give up all together and watch the other networks., No point in checking out the new shows – they’ll only get cancelled.
This is sad. My family and I watch this show every week. the show is great adding drama and comedy. the ratings are not good because it goes against CSI New York.
give it a better time slot and you will get results.
