Last week, ABC aired the first original installment of The Whole Truth in five weeks, since October 27th. The ratings-challenged show was bumped from the November sweeps schedule and cancelled in late October.
The Whole Truth’s ratings were anything but positive last Wednesday with it ranking a distant third place in the timeslot. Opposite Law & Order: Los Angeles and The Grammy Nomination Concert special, the legal drama attracted just a 0.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.65 million viewers. That represents a new series low for the Rob Morrow/Maura Tierney drama.
ABC had intended to burn off at least four more episodes throughout the month of December but this poor showing has convinced the programmers to change their plans. The Whole Truth has been pulled from the schedule and replaced with repeats for the immediate future.
On December 8th, Modern Family and Cougar Town repeats will fill the slot. On December 15th and 29th, Cougar Town encores will take over. And, on December 22nd, ABC will rebroadcast the CMA Country Christmas special. It’s unclear what will air on January 5th but a new drama, Off the Map, will debut on January 12th.
There are seven unaired episodes of The Whole Truth left on the shelf. It’s unclear when or if ABC will decide to air them at some point in the future.
What do you think? Will ABC get around to airing the rest of The Whole Truth episodes? During the summer, released online, or never?

I loved “The Whole Truth” so different and very well written. Loved the chemistry of the lead actors. I too think it wasn’t given a fair run. If people watch this they will get hooked like I did. My husband and I don’t always agree on TV shows but I also turned him onto this show once he sat down and watched it with me. I hope the powers that be will agree to let the remaining shows play and reconsider and not cancel it.
This was a great show! I can’t believe it was cancelled, with all these trashy overdone reality shows and sitcoms out there this was refreshing and I really enjoyed watching it. I hope the network brings it back!
I think they ought to air them. This is a great show. Why cancel it?? I have NOT talked to anyone who did not like it. BRING IT BACK NOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Been searchong for The Whole Truth for 2 months – can’t believe they pulled the plug. Guess we have to be content with mindlessness in place of thought provoking drama.
I really enjoyed this show. The ending was alway great. I don’t watch much TV. However, I liked this program a lot.

Excellent show and the only TV series I have watched since Frasier. It must be the age group of the powers that be who made the decision to cancel; “The Whole Truth,” is reminiscent of the great television series that aired in the 70s and 80s. The garbage today that enthralls viewers is probably related to the lack of education in this country. A series must produce sex, homosexuality, and mindless banter to attract and maintain ratings.
Loved that show.
Great show we had a whole truth party night.
I loved the whole truth.
Great show …
Hope it returns!
A terrific show. Great cast. Interesting cases. But I especially liked the plot revalations at the conclusion of each. I hope the remaining shows will become available for viewing, perhaps on cable.
I agree!
I wonder if people just didn’t know enough about it to give it a chance. As others have said, I think it was a great show. Terrific writing and acting. . . seeing the case from both sides and then learning what really happened at the end. I loved it. What a shame that it is canceled. . . I hope the episodes are shown sometime and that we’ll be able to find them!! It was terribly disappointing to get hooked on this show and its characters only to have it disappear.
I had high hopes for Terriers, but was very disappointed when it started airing…especially in the light of the last show that was filmed in OB — the “Ex-List” — a real stinker. Really wanted Terriers to succeed because it was a big boost for the local economy. Overall, I found Terriers to be tedious and a downer. I think it took itself too seriously and that the creative minds behind it had trouble deciding what type of show they wanted…or maybe just realizing their vision. I had trouble staying awake during each episode, but tried to watch because it… Read more »
I think The Whole Truth was a great show. It was not given a chance to gather a audience. Hopefully ABC will air the remaining episodes soon.
Whenever I tried to tune in, something else was on. Very
frustrating. Terrific show!
I think you should air them through Hulu. This might spark more interest.
The Whole Truth is entertaining, intelligent with likeable characters. The stories are well paced and have a hithchcock suprise ending. Instead we are given a steady diet of shows with shallow charactors with poorly written scripts. Why not promote shows that are sharp, witty instead of programs that appeal to uneducated trailer trash mentality.

I can’t believe this show was canceled. It was well
written, well acted and just a smart courtroom drama. What a
disappointment. Obviously ABC didn’t market this one properly. With
it’s lead stars, this show should have been a homerun. I hope they
give the fans the chance to view any remaining shows.
