TV show description:
This dramatic series revolves around a tough and experienced female police officer from Seattle, Allison McLean (Kelli Williams). Like most working women, her hands are already full, balancing a demanding and dangerous job and a family — husband Matt (Jonathan Scarfe), and teenagers Jeff (Mitchell Kummen) and Rachel (Natasha Calis).
She and her partner, Devin (Dion Johnstone), must arrest her brother, Tim (Luke Perry), for aggravated assault. As a result, her world drastically changes. Tim is convicted and sent to prison and this leaves his two teenagers — Cameron (Rhys Matthew Bond) and Mariah (Matreya Scarrwener) — teetering on the brink of foster care.
Having done the right thing as an officer of the law, Allison now feels compelled to do the right thing as a sister and aunt. She brings Tim’s two very unhappy teens into her home. Squeezing four teenagers under one roof proves to be an additional test of Allison’s strength and patience. It’s not easy for her husband, her children, or Tim’s kids either.
Episode #10 — Protect and Serve
Allison and Devin uncover the shocking truth at the heart of a turf war in Crestview. Allison and Matt take the entire family to visit Tim in prison. Jackie, feeling jealous of the way Cameron looks up to Allison, makes a tragic choice.

The best show on TV in years and is a shame such a good teaching show was cancelled. Guess morals and good parenting doesn’t play anymore.

Why is this cancelled???? I’ve been waiting for season 2 and decided to Google it only to find out it’s cancelled! This makes me sad! How can we get this show back on?
i loved the show – have been waiting for the 2nd season – i am so unhappy about this decision – it was a well-written, drama that could be watched by the entire family – i watched season 1 several times – UP – why would you axe such a great part of your line up??????
I am totally baffled. It seems if a show is not filled with lust, murder, profanity or inappropriate sex scenes. They are always cancelled. This show was a refresher compared to many of today’s shows. I watched it daily and touted it among my co-workers. Up network has made a tremendous mistake in not renewing this series. They have lost me as a viewer. I hope many mall will leave in protest of this show being cancelled. Maybe up will re-think their decision.
What a great show I found the series and now it is cancelled. Was acting at its best in my opinion clean captivating and left you wanting to see the next show. Mistake to cancel.
I am very sad that there will not be a second season. I have throughly enjoyed watching this season and would have continued to watch season two.

I am so sick of seeing dozens of reality TV shows and sex packed series, girls scantily clad, inappropriate sex scenes and language on all these shows, Finally-TIES THAT BIND- comes on with great acting and appropriate plots where I can watch with my entire family- and what do they do??? CANCEL IT! FIGURES. WHAT NUMB SKULLS.
