TLC, known for reality shows and docu-series, finally dipped a toe into the scripted end of the pool with Tyler Perry’s Too Close to Home TV show. It follows a woman who, after a major political scandal, retreats to the small town and family she tried to leave behind.
Too Close to Home stars Danielle Savre, Kelly Sullivan, Brock O’Hurn, Brad Benedict, and Brooke Anne Smith. Courtney Burrell, Azur-De, Nelson Estevez, Angela Rigsby, James Shanklin, KD Aubert, and Crystle Stewart recur. Heather Locklear guest stars.
The drama series just finished its second season tonight but, how long will this scripted TLC TV show last?
The first season of Too Close to Home averaged just a 0.19 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 713,000 viewers and still landed a renewal. The TLC execs were likely hoping to see some increases in season two.
Well, their gamble has paid off. Season two has averaged a 0.31 in the demo with 1.07 million viewers. While those are still pretty low ratings, they are an increase of more than 62% in the demo and more than 50% in viewership.
Based on the ratings, it seems likely that TLC will renew Too Close to Home for a third season. Hopefully, for the fans, they’ll order more than just eight episodes next time around.

I don’t know your reason for canceling, but if you care what your fans feel or think since they are the backbone and cash in your pocket young man , you be wise to listen to your fans when we tell you to bring this show back and for many more seasons. I think season 3 should not be canceled when ever there is a good show on they want to cancel it it must be that it hits to close to home for some people but the stuff that makes no sense what so ever they keep on like that stuff where they go on TV to find a spouse now that is stupid it should be canceled but not the good shows like this one so I say keep it on or just go own.

I wish too close to home come back on. It was really good. A lot of people didn’t no about it. I would convince them to look at it. When they do,they would get hooked. The show didn’t get advertised like the other shows . Please Tyler Perry bring it back. Work it out where it’s on an odd day. Too many popular shows come on the same day❤️.
