What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the USA Network television channel, the Treadstone TV show stars Jeremy Irvine, Brian J. Smith, Omar Metwally, Tracy Ifeachor, Hyo Joo Han, Gabrielle Scharnitzky, Emilia Schüle, and Michelle Forbes, with Patrick Fugit, Michael Gaston, Shruti Haasan, and Tess Haubrich in recurring roles. Created by Tim Kring and connected to the Bourne film franchise, the show explores both the origin of the CIA black ops program — Operation: Treadstone — and its present-day actions. Treadstone uses behavior modification protocol to turn recruits into nearly superhuman assassins. Sleeper agents across the globe — from D.C. to Berlin to Paris and beyond — as they are mysteriously “awakened” to resume their deadly missions.
Characters include Doug McKenna (Smith), an all-American oil-rig worker; SoYun Pak (Han), a piano instructor, wife, and mother in North Korea; John Randolph Bentley (Irvine), a spy dispatched by the CIA to eliminate a key target; Matt Edwards (Metwally), a CIA operative who has experience hunting down rogue assets; Tara Coleman (Ifeachor), an investigative journalist; Petra (Scharnitzky), a no-nonsense Russian patriot; Ellen Becker (Forbes), a savvy CIA veteran trying to balance the demands of work and family; and a Russian KGB agent (Emilia Schüle) who will stop at nothing to promote the agenda of her motherland.

Telly’s Take
Will USA Network cancel or renew Treadstone for season two? The ratings aren’t great but my sense is that this was a relatively inexpensive series (for an action drama) to produce so I’m leaning toward a renewal. Sorry, we watched season 1 and will NOT be back for season 2. The movies had a single agent (Matt or Jeremy) going against bad blackbriar agents. Lots of action spread around the world. This has multiple agents with many of the men looking alike. The writers of the TV thought lots of action and differences parts of the world would suffice but failed to realize it was a Central, consistent character that provided continuity. The TV show is a mess…. It would have been better if they stuck with one agent and followed them through their time horizon for… Read more »
it should be kept dated not back and forth, that’s what work for the bourne series, also it should follow one main character who is trying to find who he is and trying to change what he was and still is,that’s what made the movies so great.
If it just started last Tuesday, how can it be on the cancellation block. You cancel shows that the public
Hasn’t even bonded with. Who does this rating job? It certainly isn’t the real people who watch the shows. Kind of like madam secretary, it got way too real, so instead of letting us watch the entire process of the show you took it to the chopping block because it was getting much too real and powerful. Way too many good shows are dropped because of bogus ratings or hidden agendas
It didn’t get real, it got “fluffy” and lost its edge.
