Tyrant was cancelled after just three seasons on FX, and the reasons behind the shocking cancellation have now been revealed. Bert Salke, the FOX 21 President, spoke about those reasons with The Hollywood Reporter.
Salke said the following:
“We knew after the second year and were really aware that for a show we felt so strongly about — and the fan base felt so strongly about — that the numbers weren’t commensurate with the base for the show. Nobody was more aware than the FX people and John wanted to get in front of it. Chris, Howard and the studio went in with very open eyes and hoping for the best. We were getting behind it the same way we do every year and preparing for any number of outcomes. There were no surprises.”
There is hope that the series will return. Tyrant is being actively shopped to streaming services. It could land on Netflix or Hulu.

Tyrant was a show filled with realism and was a breath of fresh air from the lackluster free shows that are on now. Please bring it back. I watch all three seasons on hulu as much as I can because I always see and learn something I missed during the original airing.
Loved TYRANT, the show. My husband and I were riveted. Bring it back, please.
love the show, but was very disappointed at the season 3, it did not meet my expectation as did season 1 and 2.
Hope Netflix takes over the show. It had such good writers. Thoroughly disappointed that Fox cancelled show.

I have been looking forward to the fourth season of Tyrant. Extremely disappointed in its cancellation. Very well acted and timely. I’ll be watching no matter who picks it up. Please bring it to Netflix or Hulu so the saga continues.

yes I would like a fourth season I really enjoyed the show I felt like it really showed what happens in some of these countries, and why we should appreciate that we live in a free country

So sad it will not return on FX. My husband and I were totally hooked on the thriller. Even got my mother to watch it. I was looking forward to just one more season. Please make it happen. Love all of the characters. And it’s just a show…. people who think it’s politically inappropriate, GET A LIFE! It’s entertaining!!!!!!
