This dramedy follows a group a five friends who, when they graduated college, were filled with lofty goals, romantic dreams and hope. Unfortunately things don’t always go as planned.
The show picks up one year later, when reality has set in for the group. They struggle to stay optimistic through life’s challenges — dead-end jobs, terrible bosses, underemployment, and romantic mistakes.
With plans of becoming the next Great American Novelist, Sophia (Michelle Ang) graduated from college with high expectations. Finding herself with a serious case of writer’s block while working in a minimum wage job, selling donuts at Donut Girl, proves to be a much more difficult reality than she anticipated. She can rely on her close-knit family of friends and they provide her with plenty of fodder for inspiration as she attempts to break free from her creative shackles. An unexpected romance stirs new awakenings within her and shy Sophia gets every opportunity to step out of her comfort zone.
Daphne (Sarah Habel) is trying to make her way in the business world by surrounding herself with everything she thinks she wants. It comes with a price however. An unpaid internship at one of Chicago’s hippest advertising agencies starts as a great opportunity. After a year of work, she’s racked up a mountain of credit card debt and not a single paycheck. Further complicating things is a growing crush on her boss Todd (Charlie Weber) — even though she knows it may be a mistake.
Lou (Jared Kusnitz) is a do-gooder at hear who graduated from college expecting to save the world’s environment. But when his ex-girlfriend shows up pregnant, Lou feels he has to sacrifice both his bachelor lifestyle and his environmentalist convictions. He takes a job working for his father who runs a chemical company renowned for its pollution. With an office job, a young family, and mounting debt, Lou struggles with the pressure to always do the right thing.
Raviva (Inbar Lavi) is strong-willed and struck out for Los Angeles immediately after graduation, determined to make it as a musician. On her last night in town, she said goodbye to Lou, her long-time boyfriend and college love. Los Angeles was harder to crack than expected and she ended up moving back to Chicago with a guitar in hand and a baby in her belly.
Miles (Diego Boneta) is good-looking and optimistic and, despite never having a plan, he always seems to land on his feet. After barely graduating from college, Miles decides to put that degree to work and commit full time to pursuing his dream of being an actor/model/spokesman/something. He aspires to be a world famous model, the face of a major ad campaign, but instead finds himself serving mojitos and mini-tacos in his skivvies.
Episode #12 — The Heart
Miles plans to pursue modeling abroad and invites Daphne along. Sophia throws a party for her brand-new, first published book. Lou tries to get Raviva back.

What do you think? Do you like the Underemployed TV series? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?

I’ve been waiting forever for this to come back on!! When is this happening??
This is actually a good show for MTV and I hope they move it to a different evening to capture more viewers. I believe this series is worth saving for another season at least.
Renew it…I really like the show!!!
Renew renew renew!!! Love it
renew it!!!!!!!!!! i loved that from the first episode!!!
I think they should renew it. MTV never really gave it a chance. If you can have shows like Real Housewives of whatever freaking city, which all they do is smile in each others face and then go backstab them later, then i think they can keep a show like Underemployed, ijs.
Renew love it
