Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

I really loved watching V, I to never miss an episode. I’m very very disappointed that we will not get to see those beautiful people every week anymore. Me personally I feel like the show didn’t make it because “ABC” really sucks and if the show had been on a cable channel like “USA” or “TNT”, where most of America watches, it would still be on the air! Lets just hope that one of them picks it up, and soon. The 5th Column lives!!!
I am so bummed. this was another good cult following show like the X-files. Lots of loyal watchers. Too bad network could not take another shot!
Wow…watched all the shows and was left with no real conclusion! I wish they would have at least left us with some type of ending. I liked the show and know several others who did too. Sure beat watching those stupid reality series.
The least you could have done was FINISHED the series. You keep the Bachelor and get rid of something good. 5 million viewers is a lot in my eyes.
I tried watching this show when season one was on Hulu. I managed to keep up until the season finale, but the writing for the show was riddled with holes and unnecessarily melodramatic scenes. Surprised to see anyone particularly upset about it.
Very dissapointed they didn’t renew the 3rd season. Just left us hanging in mid air. Hopefully another station will pick it up long live 5th column
NOOOOOO!!! BRING BACK V!!!
abc should at least do a feature length final episode or mini series to complete the story.
bring the show back
Like all in this forum I am well p@@@@d off to have heard that V is no more. I also loved the 80’s series and when the reincarnation of V was revealed in 2010 – oh, I was happy as larry. I baught V series 1 dvd box set just Christmas past and I have never see it since ! All my mates want their hands on it – and like me are hooked ! I’m so on a downer now ! Come on guys you creat great “sitting on edge of seat” story lines with an amazing cast and… Read more »
This was the only show that I watched on ABC. I cant believe that it was cancelled!
Please consider bringing it back!
I did’n believe it me and my family watched V every week we never missed and episode if networks want to bring back old show then don’t end them with disappointment.
Very very upset. I watched each and every episode of the original series. I was so thrilled to see that a new version of the show was being made and aired. My family and I also watched each episode, and are just besides ourselves that it is being cancelled without closure of the story, or any kind of ending. This is wrong..I understand the money aspect, but couldn’t they have sold it to the scifi channel or something..this really pisses me off..it was just starfting to get really good…bring back V you money hungry producers
My family enjoyed watching this series every week and we are very disappointed that “V” was cancelled, especially since there was no proper conclusion to the story lines. The last episode left Anna in control and her invading horde about to decimate Earth. We can only assume that is what would have happened next. Perhaps the writers could come up with some better ending for the series, and it could be broadcast as a “TV movie.”
Sad, Sad day, this show was great! It’s a shame thats these kinds of shows are getting cancelled when other horrible shows continue on. With 5.49 million viewers one would think that this show was pretty popular but I guess thats not enough huh. Screw you ABC! No longer will I watch your shows and get into them only for Exect’s to decide to end them, and w/o a real ending too!!! Sad so Sad
