Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

Whats the matter with you people up at ABC, 5 million viewers is not good enough for you? Youre loosing viewers with this stupid attitude. If youre gonna run a show, run it. Cuz it seems like you don´t know what youre doing. Who´s running this thing? Get him off his ego!
V was one of the few shows on television worth looking forward to.
ABC owes us at least a finale show. Gee, you can’t even trust network
television. Thank God for Netflix.
Everytime a decent TV series is shown it is axed! V was pure entertainment. My husband and I looked forward to watching it every week. Great acting, great story, great action! It seems that only junk seems to last. It was taken off because of producers, not what the viewers want.
Wow I was looking forward to season 3. ABC is only good for cancelled shows. I’m surprised ABC hasn’t cancelled it self out all together. I have no reason to even tune into ABC
PLEASE bring back V!!! It was a great show.
Bring V back, best show on TV!!!!!
Once a show is canceled nothing brings it back, but I have to say this just SUCKS!!!
V was a great show. Cant stand all these reality shows that keep staying around!!!!
I agree! Everytime a good series comes out…they go and cancel it. Money money money…all they see. At least finish the series out so the unanswered questions can be answered. No wonder I normally don’t watch ABC…they get you hooked…then cancel it.
We want V! We did not miss an episode of s1 or s2 and could not wait to see s3. Please reconsider ABC.
This sucks!! Not everyone is in love with reality tv or idiotic sitcomes some people actually like sci-fi and the occasional good crime drama. I hope the sci-fi channel can get V so some of us can have something to enjoy.
every time they make a decent TV series they have to **** it up by canceling it.
Yeah, Chris. Leave it to the networks to **** up a good series. They have ******* dickheads sitting in a glass tower making these halfass decisions. What a bunch of ******** they have.
very very disappointed I was looking forward to seeing season 3 and the only reason I would think it failed was the fact that it didn’t have a lot of advertising…..it sad to see it go I loved the old one and was excited for the new one…I hope you will reconsider
Please please please bring it back way too many unanswered questions :/
Wow…. Wrong move… And both shows not good.. You guys need to reconsider and bring those two shows back on… We can’t make reality tv take over … I was so excited when I saw that V was coming back and some of the old cast was joining the new… ABC you do not deserve V and No Ordinary Family…. The Sci-Fi network should take it over…. Bad ABC.. You are one of my favorite station… I don’t know now?
It’s a disgrace that excellent shows get cancelled. It’s a sad fact that most of the tv-viewing population aren’t intelligent enough to appreciate decent scifi storylines because they’re “too complex” for their tiny minds to cope with and they only want to watch X-Factor reality TV rubbish. The slow death of quality entertainment continues!!!!
