Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

but i was watching that!
I really loved V. It’s unfortunate that it was cancelled.
ABC did this series in. They should have it available online. no scifi fan is seat in front of there pc watching.
There’s little point in watching new shows anymore; just as they get good they get cancelled. V was brilliant, the whole family watched it and now it’s cancelled just as the storyline got interesting.
It never fails, everytime there is a show on TV I like…..it gets cancelled. Who are the idiots that decide this stuff. I know ratings are everything. I thought “V” was one of the best shows on TV and I have been waiting to see how the unanswered questions from the finale get answered. I gues that will not happen. SAD.
I really loved this show. Very upset about this. All the good shows get cancel.
The British would not have cancelled it until the entire story had run. They are professional that way. Give it to them.
I second that. The Americans have too many programs and channels to choose from. So good shows get canceled.
**** you pricks
Mortified to find out “V” was cancelled, just mortified. Why bother reviving something so great just to snatch it back off of the public. ABC could have at least given us a final episode or something….
So so sad, This series is one of my favourite. if any one in ABC read this comment , i can tell u it’s totally wrong. this series so obvious even if it’s remake ………. hope coming back to us.
K…..this is the third favorite show of mine thats been taken away. Please don’t take this one too. I used to watch the original when I was a kid. I was SOOOOOO excited to see it back…..and with some of the original actors and actresses! Please bring this one back too:(
This absolutely SUCKS!! I think the only reason it didn’t catch up so well was because off the original V watchers that claimed that the series was being raped of it’s incredibility. I say New Age New Changes. Screw all those people. I watched the show & loved it. I’m sUper pissed.
It was a good show but, you need to show the aliens in their own skin every once in a while,
with different levels of the species doing unhuman acts.
It’s really very obvious why the series was cancelled.
I’m amazed it ever got the green light to restart.
The only downside to the “V” series is that it will make the ignorant laugh at the truth.
ABC sucks anyway V rocks loved it 1st an 2nd
This show was starting to go downhill at the end of season two. It was painfully obvious that the producers were trying to drag the story line out just to eek out a few more episodes. I can appreciate suspense, but after awhile it becomes dull and drawn out. Also, as others have said the wait between season 1 and 2 was just too long. Good ridence visitors!
