Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

Why? Do the producers of a show do this sort of thing on purpose, just to get a reaction? This re-make of the old ” V” was terrific. Our household looked forward to watching it ever week. This seems like a trend with new TV shows. Get people interested, then end them without finishing them. The “method to your madness” is what drives people away from a show, why get stared watching it when we all know you won’t finish it? One comment below was that the seasons end right in the middle of a situation which is something that… Read more »
Yes, ABC stinks. The viewers it had in the first season got lost when it did not reappear in mid season. This show, flash forward and Life on Mars were all good shows. I agree with everyone else I won’t waste my time watching ABC anymore.
Really? Again with yet another cancellation of a great show!!!!!! ABC is always left wondering WHY they have such low ratings?? Did you ever stop to think maybe, just maybe it is because you rarely keep a show on for more than a season or two!!!!
No surprise here. Add this to the list of other great shows ABC has cancelled…The Nine, Detroit 187, Life on Mars, to name a few. Well, I suppose they have to make room so they can run 37 episodes of Dancing with the Stars a day. What a joke of a network…idiot programming to cater to idiots. Any time anything smart and intersting comes around, it gets pulled immediately.
This is a joke. 1st ABC cancels Flash Forward and now this, just leaving the viewers hanging in the middle of a story. You don’t see that from USA, TNT, or FX. I am giving up on watching ABC series now.

I dont watch much on tv but the Event was one of best shows on . I will be turning the tv off.
IF you canceled something, you at least owe the deticated viewers some closure. Thanks for nothing, ABC. You lost another viewer.
Very disappointing. It was a captivating show. My husband and I watched every episode and were stunned it was canceled. There is not much left on tv for educated viewers.
cant believe its bin cancelled loved v was looking forward to another series had so much more to come just know it
ABC you disappoint me again. You had a great Sci-Fi show and you drop it. Im tired of the same Reality, Make Over, Various Different Crime shows, and Game Shows. I want my unrealistic alien invading world conquering manipulating V’s. So for this Fall Season I will and my Family has decided to bann you, boycott, and totally to ignore you.
**** them!
ABC needs to pull their collective heads out of their @$$. I can not believe that they could cancel this show. It was getting better. My wife and I loved it. Great now they want us to watch the crap like reality TV, woo hoo.
I am really disappointed in ABC. The V Series is the only main TV show that I have kept interest in for years. I’m sick of reality TV. Hopefully someone else will pick it up. It had so much potential. Thanks a lot ABC you’ve lost a fan of your network.
Dumb! It was my favorite show by far on tv. Now, I have no reason at all to watch any of the big networks. No wonder they are all circling the drain. Reality shows means they have no money! Free money for crap tv! Won’t find me watching it!
**** YOU! ABC IS A PIECE OF ****!
