Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

te maldigo abc por cancelar una serie buena y genial
v era mi unica serie que siempre veia en tv
It seems that they cancelled everything worth watching, and replace it with such catch phases as new hit series.(says who?) The networks should have to be made, when cancelling a show, do a series finally to close the ends. In stead of us thinging what if?
Its not right and its getting to the point of not getting committed to any series and wait for the DVD. In other words not watching the networks
What a tragedy that this show was cancelled. A great series and I liked it better than the original. I hope another network picks it up and it blows ABC’s ratings out of the water. ABC stinks!
one of the few shows on tv my family and i can watch together. it should actually be a criminal offense to have viewers commit so much of their time into a series and then just pull it. unbelievable. anyone here on this forum ever get a chance to vote? I know of no one that has ever had the chance to be part of the so called ratings. maybe they are a bit flawed. who do they choose to be a part of ratings? its not any of my friends or family or middle america. I bet its either… Read more »
This was my one and only favorite show. It really disappoints me because I loved this show and was hoping it would come back. It was refreshing to see something new and interesting on tv and it saddens me. ABC has no idea what good tv is and I vow I’ll never watch another show on ABC again. Who the hell wants to see greys anatomy and desperate housewives…boring. I’m done with ABC!
Wow I cant believe V has been cancelled. Four friends and I would get together to watch. What a good show better then all the stuff on. Please change your mind we would love to watch more.
Are you kidding??? This is the only show that I was watching and waiting to be renewed for the upcoming season!!! I think ABC has made a dreadful mistake in not renewing this show and should reconsider airing Season 3 in January 2012. PLEASE!!!!!
Very surprised, and extremely disappointed that the show has been cancelled. It was a great series with a promising following, had you given it it’s rightful chance. BAD decision!
Very disappointed, my wife and I loved this show and I am not a tv watcher yet I watched every episode of V. I watched the original and I loved this one, but you cancelled it, nice. Not real sure what kind of tv company you are running or what the big master plan of your corporation is but it aint working…..goodbye ABC and thanks for nothing.
I am extremely appauleda V not being renewed for a third series!! It was an amazing show. I am a Great Britain resident an my friends and myself LOVE this series!
Please, please reconsider! And if not, please sell it to someone who will continue the saga and let us see what happens next! I will never watch another ABC program as long as i live if this is the way you treat the viewers that tune in!
Good comments here. Dragging out with stupid sub-lots detracts from the great story-line and incredible graphics and acting in this particular series… There is no point in getting involved, entertained and excited about a series show to have it cancelled, and V is not the only one, and being left in cyberspace wondering what the hell happened and what a damn waste of time…. I for one will certainly not bother watching any series shows until either I know it will have an ending or simply waiting for it to come into the realm of netflix/internet/freedownloads… and there are more… Read more »
I can not believe you’ve cancelled “V”, replacing it with such INSTANT CLASSICS(I’m being sarcastic)If you hadn’t played around with the shows’ number of installments, you wouldn’t have had such dismal ratings. It isn’t that the show didn’t appeal(and it had plenty, a real winning formula)but rather . your UNBELIEVABLE INEPTITUDE led to its demise!!!!!!!!!! I truly hope another network picks it up.I’ll have one less reason to watch ABC.
Any new series that ABC creates from now on I will not watch. If the entire series ends in a way the critics like; I will wait for the series to appear free on netflix. ABC has let GREED take over the network. Maybe if they has not DRAGED out the story line it would have been more popular.

I watched the 1st season, then wait checking almost everyday for when the 2nd season was starting. Then I watched the 2nd season and even got an iphone app then was left on the edge of my seat on the finale. And I returned to checking everyday for when it was coming back for the 3rd season…. I feel like the life has been sucked out of me, then spit out!
ABC should start making mini-series (Thats what there doing anyway) at least that way we get the story from “Start to Finish”, instead of “Start to…
