Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

Oh dammit not again!! The season finale shows next week in the UK. Now I have to look forward to unanswered questions. If you are going to end a show then atleast end it properly. Do a feature length episode if you need to..just don’t leave us hanging.
I am fed up with shows ending this way..it’s an injustice to the fans.
I like very much V, why have you made this to us ?
Anna’s evil plan had one fatal flaw. She failed to notice that the decision makers at ABC, weren’t Blissed. They must have a hidden underground bunker, of their very own. Well at least we all got to see Tyler die, and in June we’ll still have Falling Skies, to cure our alien invasion fix.
This is devastating. I was really hoping I’d get to see how the good guys eventually win! Why cancel this and renew Shark Tank? Sad.
ABC your stuped!!! Won’t watch your channel ANYMORE!!!!!!!
ABC your stuped!!
ABC = Another Bogus Cancellation
I am totally disgusted with ABC right now regarding “V”. Every survey poll I have read says that “V” should come back for another season. According to all 5 polls, the question was asked “Should ABC have canceled “V”? most polls said 87-96 % NO! They should not have canceled “V”.
Gutted
Why make cliff hangers or serials if your not going to resolve them I’m getting fed up of US Serials not completing. I might wait for the repeats to ensure I get an end
I am so pissed that ABC cancelled “V”. It really seemed to me though that they wanted the show to die. I mean look – season 1 only had 13 episodes then season two comes back mid season with 10 episodes and they didn’t even stream episodes online or make them available to Hulu subcribers. Plus, alot of people can’t schedule their lives around TV schedules, so we depend on streaming and DVD. I, for one, could never catch “V” on TV because I had to work 3pm-11pm. So I am depending on DVD to catch up. If the networks… Read more »
“V” was a great show….not perfect, but no shows are today anyway. The finale showed great promise for the 3rd Season. ABC only sites a rating drop, but no one seems to take into account the use of DVR’s like Tivo and the like, or the internet for viewing these episodes. Due to the worldwide fan base, I’m sure the ratings for “V” was much larger than it appeared. Most people today don’t have time to tune in at the exact time that shows air. In the meantime, ABC picks up the new “Charlie’s Angels” as if they will give… Read more »
Is it possible that it will be picked up by another network?
The best show on TV, would even be willing to pay a monthly fee to watch, please someone bring it back even on a low rate channel. ABC has really let me down, they have got to stop canceling these good shows, they leave the bad ones, do they care about us as viewers? it appears not. Also try being more consistent with the time slots, stop skipping weeks in between, “back in a few weeks/month”. . . .
Geeze ABC give your head a shake !!! Why did you cancell all the goods shows V is an outstanding show we could not wait every week for it,,,, now you cancel it ! Plus you cancel Brothers and Sisters and Off the Map two more great great shows…but keep that lame Bachelor/Bachelor and even lamer Bachelor Pad, is this network run by monkey? ABC SUCKS !!!!!
‘V’ brought me back to ABC after years of not watching that station. When I was young, it seemed all the good shows were on ABC (Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, The Time Tunnel, and who could forget The Outer Limits). Through the years they became a station of junk and I shifted to CBS . V brought me back to ABC, you know what, once again I’ll be leaving ABC for better viewing on other channels (CBS & cable). Thank you ABC for your decision so I can remove you from the mix of channels that I… Read more »
really dissapointed about V. moreover it was cancelled after such a cliffhanger…please, ABC, bring it back!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
@ Annnie. Nope they won’t bring it back. This network is the biggest bunch of morons among the networks and that’s saying a lot. V, Detroit 187, Life On Mars, and so on, cancelled. Bachelor, Bachelorette, Dancing whatever, renewed. I still wonder why they bother to order scripted shows at all.
Body of proof? Though the demo is not encouraging, they are “Giving it a second chance.” Yeah. Way to go ABC.
