Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!!! ABC SUCKS!!! My husband and I were SOOO excited to see the next season of “V” that we bought a DVR just to catch any episodes we might miss. We weren’t big fans of the 1980’s “V” but we became HUGE fans of the recent ones. Please reconsider giving us at least one more season and giving it a proper ending with the loose ends tied up…..
Loved the show, a great re-telling and an awesome end to the second series. Shame that there will not be a third season.
V was one of my favorite shows on TV. My son and I watched it every week. I hope it goes into syndication and a cable station picks it up! I would love to know where the show was headed. This sucks!
I did like the show good performance from the actors, was waiting for more, nothing at lease like some of us viewer say we should have a ending or closure for our satisfaction, you have a show with 5.9 millions of viewer and it not a lot…
If it’s like that we the viewer’s might as well stop watching all the tv series show and just watch movies those have good, fair, sad, bad ending that we know how it’s ended….
I so sick of ABC network. They pull this crap all the time. Most of their shows hardly ever last likely due to not enough advertisement. And they cancel shows with unresolved cliffhangers. They have no regard for their audiences. Im boycotting ABC from now on. ABC you suck!
If this show is canceled,I think is time for the viewers to stop watching ABC TV network because everything is just like playing with everybody’s time
I am very dissapointed to hear that V has been canceled, I really looked forward to watching that showI thought it was well written and I loved the plot line. Give me a break and bring it back. V for victory.
Every time I like a show they cancel it. I am about to give up on watching anything new! Stay in touch with your audiences!
I liked V a lot and wish it had continued; even though we didn’t get the ending we wanted from it, that’s not so much the show’s fault as it is the network’s for not continuing it. I don’t regret the hours I put into V, I just wish they’d led to a more satisfying payoff.
I think this is as much a commentary on ABC as it is on “V”…we enjoyed the show and are sad it is not contninung…
this stinks. i agree that if i had known they had no plans to continue, i would have never got started. it was a good show, very well done, and was really getting going. i was very much looking forward to season 3. oh well, now i don’t have to watch abc at all.
That really sucks big time! Probably the viewers were not as high as ABC would have liked is because ABC kept messing with the schedule and making people wait longer for V to return for the 2nd season and a lot of people got tired of being yoked around!
As in a lot of series my problem is not the show is over but rather that after investing hours of our time watching a series we have no ending and are left having waisted 1 or 2 seasons of our time. “ABC and the others” should have a responsibility to their viewers who invested their time in watching their series to at least make a one or two part finally to any series that is cancelled. We the viewers deserves better. Maybe we have place for legal action since they owe us??? My hope is that “ABC and the… Read more »
legal action? you aren’t forced to watch it. pro tip: wait until the series is over and you’ll know whether it was cancelled or not.
O, ok 1.5 million viewers isnt worth a season 3. That sucks!
This show was GREAT! Why would they do this? It’s almost like they want viewers to watch what they like. I totally loved this show and I was wondering where it was at. I’m not happy about this at all. This show was awesome and for them to cancel it like this is wrong. Hey, what can you say? It seems as though ABC is doing what they want to do. I don’t want to switch to NBC but if they keep taking shows off that I watch I will have no choice.
