Sadly, the Visitors aren’t among us any longer. After two short seasons, ABC has cancelled their V TV series.
A reimagining of the original V, this series tells the tale of what happens when an advanced alien race arrives of Earth professing their desire to help mankind. Fortunately, not everyone trusts them. The second season features the talents of Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell as Erica Evans, Joel Gretsch, Laura Vandervoort, Logan Huffman, Morena Baccarin, Morris Chestnut, and Scott Wolf.
For season one, V ended up averaging a 2.25 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic and 5.7 million average viewers. It was “on the bubble” but ended up being renewed for a 13 episode second season. The network was hoping that the show would catch on and the ratings would improve.

ABC later reduced the episode order to just 10 installments and debuted them mid-season. Unfortunately, ABC’s gamble didn’t pay off. Season two of V ended up averaging only a 1.9 in the demo and 5.49 million viewers.
Though the network and producers maintained that the show was still in contention for next season, it was clear that there would only be a third season of V if ABC was willing to gamble once again. In the end, they weren’t.
ABC confirmed today that V has been cancelled after two seasons and 22 episodes. The series finale aired on March 15th and, unfortunately, there were lots of unresolved cliffhangers. Hopefully the producers will someday share what they had in mind for season three.
What do you think? Are you sad that V won’t be returning next season? Why do you think the series didn’t catch on?

Wow that cut me deep, you finally find the show that’s fit you every viewing desires and thay cut it.That really and truly hurts.I have no more faith in any more TV series coming from ABC.
If you are not satisfied in the middle of season 2, you should have ended it without any doubts there are lot of unresolved issues… what a waste of time….
same on this network and any network that stops a show without an ending, u have no respect for the people that c this program , so for now on no series exist for me cause I dont trust u anymore……….totally waste of time……..
totally agree on you… its a waste of time…
i think they took off to slow by end of season one there needed to be some serious resistance. i loved how the story was done and have no problem with any of it but newer viewers not familiar with the original never saw the “red dawn” fight scenes that all us thirty somethings grew up with. I think if there were more action sequence earlier ratings would have been better sooner. americans love guns and the thought of fighting for freedom against anyone homo sapien or not. if there was an extensive gun battle of some kind in the… Read more »
I think that v should have stayed on the air.
The show had a good story line and lots of
Action. Maybe the cable network sy-fy should
Have picked up the show.
V was a great show and that is hard to say after watching the original as a young man. The show was well watched by many people in my area. A real shame!!!!
F ABC
Hmmm! I will never invest my time on series again, its hopeless
I waited for so long to continue to watch the series just to find out that they cancelled the show!! Not fair
Like usual with most TV series lately; if networks find them falling in ratings their just cancelled without any closure. For this reason only should we actually invest our time with any new show coming from the networks. I for one am tried of investing in these shows and left wanting. We need to show or tell networks; that their viewing audiences would at least have closure with these shows, if they are going to cancel our favorite shows.
I don’t know who provided ABC’s ratings but V was extremely popular as shown by the polls.
I just don’t understand
i agree
also here in greece we had good ratings too, the really reason is another story….
It’s a shame, I just found the show and got all caught up, with 2 episodes to go until the end of season 2 to find out there will be no season 3 >.< Then I read there are a lot of unresolved cliffhangers, arghhhh.. Why ABC, why??
They need to bring it back or have a mini siries letting us know how it ends
ABC should not have cancelled this show. It had a lot of potential and a lot of fans. I mean when Fringe can stay on and Lost was on for a long time, why not V? But ABC let go of many shows so we watch other stations , period. Look what happened to Brothers and Sisters!
If over 5 million viewers don’t count then why bother top watch anything? I am so tired of the crap that actually makes it on tv these days. I don’t know if I am alone in this, but If there is nothing to watch I switch to cable. If they think they are really going to make a profit by alienating the 5 million then fine… We will not watch your network at all…
Dumb move to cancel after 2 seasons.. too many cliffhangers and unanswered questions.. bring the series back I say
