This one doesn’t come as a surprise (unless you’re Larry King). CBS has cancelled Vegas after one low rated season. Dennis Quaid and company won’t be back for season two.
The series finale, titled “Sons of Nevada,” airs tonight.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Vegas has been cancelled? Why do you think that more people didn’t watch?
I am so sorry to see Vegas go. I will never understand why good shows are cancelled. If they were put on good nights with good time slots they could survive and given a chance to mature. Every year I see good shows like Vegas, Touch, Mob Doctor, Red Widow, Emily Owens MD, Private Practice, Made in Jersey, Body of Proof, etc be cancelled. Not sure why the TV stations continue to keep the reality shows, that so many people are sooo tired of. I too hope some of the other stations will pick up some of these shows. What… Read more »
This is truly ridiculous!! This was mostly a top 15 to top 30 first year program which was cancelled. The reason the rating torpedoed was because the network screwed with it by keeping it off of the air for over a month and then placing it in the Friday graveyard. This is a program (as are many dramas) that has a continuing theme. Such manipulations is sure to kill the ratings.
I really liked the show…sorry to see it go….everything we like is cancelled and
the overemphasis on politically correctness is over the top.
We couldn’t wait for Vegas to.come on. Now you have taken a great quality show and replace.it with a show I will not watch. Bring back Vegas . It’s great TV.
I’m so frustrated by this-we DVR’ed the show every week and were excited every time we sat down to watch, never to be disappointed! I hope someone at CBS sees this and reconsiders!
My family loved Vegas as well and are very disappointed it has been cancelled. It was refreshing to see a well written and acted scripted network show. Vegas never pandered or relied on gore or sleaze to grab ratings. From what I understand the networks don’t count shows that people DVR or watch On Demand in the ratings. We always watched Vegas On Demand, especially after the move to Fridays. We are really going to miss this one, haven’t been this upset over a show being cancelled since FOX cancelled Arrested Development. But I see AD is coming back, so… Read more »
Loved the show, was so hoping not to being canceld. Give it another season for the show to grow. Great acting, good story, it could get only better.
What a sorry state of affairs. CBS carries such great drama shows which they don’t deserve to have. The cancelling of “Vegas” is unbelieveable. Good actors, good storyline. Maybe some other broadcasting company will pick it up. With a good portion of TV being a wasteland it is great to run across shows like this. Execs will never learn, as we know this sure isn’t the first time and it won’t be the last.
You said it all.
You have saddened yet another HUGE fan of Vegas! I have to say the show’s over all start up didn’t quite seem all put together. When the show was replaced with Golden Boy I for one was greatly disappointed! Never has a show done this that I can remember. And then to move it to a new night with the beginning credits changed!! I really enjoyed the atmosphere and back to the basics style of the show that showcased family value in a way. I’m a huge fan of Dennis Quaid. They couldn’t have picked a better actor for that… Read more »
We’ve watch Vegas on Apple TV where we pay for every episode. Great show. The Lambs are a big part of the real Vegas lore and I’d pay a premium to see more episodes.
It always seems like the TV network guys cancel the good ones and leave the junk on. Sad “Touch” was cancelled as well.
A great show, great actors performing their characters superbly. Good storyline. Why cancel this interesting show when so many of us love it. Come on guys, reconsider, and work to keep this series.
My husband and I watch every episode because Vegas has a great cast and a great story line. The ratings were getting better, if only CBS executives would their shows a chance. Historically, great shows take some time to build an audience. Didn’t Seinfeld almost get cancelled? Now it’s still making money in syndication after all these years.

This was one program that I liked, it contained the least amount of vulgar language and was very entertaining. I am really sad to see this leave, I was looking forward to seeing next season’s programs. The one time I think the network gets it right and then they cancel the show.
In addition to further highlight the mismanagement by CBS, they moved Vegas for a truly awful show called Golden Boy. They should have given Vegas more time and attention. It was a quality show. Engrossing p, vivid with great story, great looking and compelling.
Don’t blame Vegas for the ratings. blame CBS
