Take a little time to enjoy the view. The View kicks of its 20th season on ABC, September 6, 2016 at 11:00am ET/PT. In advance of that landmark, ABC is airing its “The View: 20 Years In the Making” special tonight, August 23, 2016, at 10:00pm ET/PT. A daily talkshow featuring news, pop culture, and “hot topics” from the perspective of different women, The View first premiered on Monday, August 11, 1997.
The original panel on The View featured Barbara Walters, moderator Meredith Vieira, Joy Behar, Star Jones, and Debbie Matenopoulos. Their first guest was Tom Selleck. Other co-hosts throughout years include:Lisa Ling, Elisabeth Hasselback, Rosie O’Donnel, Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd, Jenny McCarthy, Rosie Perez, Nicolle Wallace, Raven-Symoné, Michelle Collins, Candace Cameron Bure, Paula Faris, and Sara Haines.
