Last summer, FOX launched Wayward Pines. The network announced that the last episode of the season was the “series finale” but later decided to order a second season anyway. Was that move a mistake? Should Wayward Pines be renewed for a third season?
On Wayward Pines, the residents of the town must battle against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. Doctor Theo Yedlin (Jason Patric) is a new resident of the community. He awakens from suspended animation and finds himself in the middle of this rebellion. He tries to understand what Wayward Pines really is and while helping to preserve the endangered human race. The rest of the cast includes Djimon Hounsou, Nimrat Kaur, Josh Helman, Kacey Rohl, Tom Stevens, Hope Davis, Shannyn Sossamon, Carla Gugino, Toby Jones, Tim Griffin, Charlie Tahan, Melissa Leo, and Terrence Howard.
The first season of Wayward Pines drew a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 3.82 million viewers. Season two has been way down, garnering a 0.7 rating in the demo with 2.41 million.
M. Night Shyamalan has said that he’d like the show to run for three seasons but, with ratings like these, it seems unlikely that the network will order season three.
But, what do you think? Should FOX renew Wayward Pines for a third season or, should the series be cancelled instead? Is two seasons enough?

The show has to come back. They ended the show so fast this year. I want to know what happened to the girl when she went outside the gate. Is she dead or alive? Are the Abby’s still there? What’s going to happen when they wake up? I seen that food had started to regrow so many questions are unanswered I need answers bring the show back.
It took me this long to pick up on the series & have binged on it for a couple of days now & definitely want it to return!! It’s a great show & there are way too few good SciFi’s……..love it & would be sorely missed if not renewed!!……….so please renew.

Advertise this Series and the ratings will soar.
I didn’t think it would that fast I was a little hurt because it was going off
They (who is ‘they’ anyways?) say season 2 had low ratings but I think it is just starting to get really good. Great ending to season 2! Nicely done! I’m hoping they do a season 3! And maybe advertise it more so people know of it and bring those ratings up. Would hate for it to go by the wayside like many others good show do due to ratings.
